nice do you have an srgb color profile to camp the gamut to 99% srgb? Not sure what you mean. I did the calibration using the default racing mode not sRGB mode. They looked the same to me anyways. Are you suggesting to do recalibration using sRGB mode? I'm happy with how the color look at the momen...

I calibrated my VG259QM and this is the result. It's much better than what was suggested in one of the Youtube reviews I posted earlier. I compared it to my older Asus Proart PA248 and they look pretty much identical. The monitor can also do 12 bit using HDMI at 144hz.

Re: 05/22/2020 UPDATE. The IPS 240hz monitor tier list.(I've measured/tried the all) and my honest explanation why.

If you can get more than 250fps every single time just set refresh rate to 280hz and cap at 250fps with freesync. 240hz capped at 236 is better IMO if you happen to have your fps dipping as low as 220-230. Generally I take the 5% lows (not 0.1% and not 1%) and I use it as a baseline to find the cor...

Re: 05/22/2020 UPDATE. The IPS 240hz monitor tier list.(I've measured/tried the all) and my honest explanation why.

Set the monitor to 280hz and enable Gsync/Freesync + ingame(or config file) fps cap Unless you can constantly output more than 280fps I don't think it's worth to play with an uncapped framerate, personally I'm very sensible to tearing even at the higher refresh rate. In games where my fps fluctuate...

I don't think that should happen in quakelive unless you have a weak PC. try com_idlesleep 0 command. thats usually what people forget (including myself) when i do fresh install and keep wondering why do i have fps drops. I7 8700k cpu and still does. It's pretty normal for fps to drop in QL. Most p...

Re: 05/22/2020 UPDATE. The IPS 240hz monitor tier list.(I've measured/tried the all) and my honest explanation why.

DP 1.2 is 21.6 Gbps, DP 1.4 is 32.40 Gbps. This monitor supports DP 1.2 so 1.4 is using 1.2's bandwith, there is no benefit in using a newer/faster DP cable. I bought it just for future proofing. The input lag is extremely low. If you can manually tweak the config file of Quake (if there is one) ma...

Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]

Congrats on your new purchase! I hope you enjoy it! :) Going to a higher refresh rate will give you less motion blur and input lag, and Asus is a quality brand. And I agree, I'm looking forward to when we get even better improvements in the years to come with a wide variety of LCDs approaching CRT-...

Re: Viewsonic XG270 with 'PureXP" MBR [pre-tuned by Blur Busters!]

I believe in the forums from reading that crosstalk (information from previous images leftover) is kept at a minimum in the 90-130Hz range, although best around 100-120Hz. So with any LCD there's a time where the image is drawn down on the screen, and the trick to getting rid of LCD motion blur is ...

Re: 05/22/2020 UPDATE. The IPS 240hz monitor tier list.(I've measured/tried the all) and my honest explanation why.

74tm and axaro1: thanks for clarifying. I read somewhere that it didn't come with a displayport cable which confused me. What is the difference between DP 1.2 and 1.4? does 1.4 have certain advantages or uses? Also how do you guys like the monitor so far?..how's the input lag on it? anyone plays fps...

The monitor does come with both a display and hdmi port, at least mine did.
Alright thanks. I read somewhere that it didn't include a displayport cable which seemed odd.
