From what I can tell it definitely fixed the no signal detected issue that I was having when turning off the monitor and turning it back on using DP.

This is normal if no VT1350 tweak is done.
The brightness becomes brighter if you do the Vertical Total 1350 tweak.
Did you give that a try?

this evening I managed to upgrade my monitor with the "linux method". However I think the monitor is way too dark when I have Blur Reduction turned on. In the BlurBusters Utility I set Persistence to 2ms and Crosstalk 0. Now i don't know if this is completely normal? I dont think there is any ...

i found 3 and the one that is named in the guide was amongst them so I went on with the command list.. I personally would not change this as you may try to flash a chip, that is not to be flashed. but as you have the 2420 it might have another name, that's correct. and you only found 1?

I just managed to flash the V2 firmware on my XL2411Z, using only a VGA cable and some code I wrote.
