Re: ASUS VG248QE (G-Sync) Won't Turn On
The adapter came in and the barrel plug fits perfectly. As expected, Mouser has some inconsistency listing the inner and outer diameters for their barrel plugs. When in doubt, check the datasheet. Even better news: the adapter got my monitor working again. I'm really glad I only paid $30 for an adap...

Re: ASUS VG248QE (G-Sync) Won't Turn On
Well, this is strange. The majority of sites that sell this adapter lists it as having a 2.5 mm barrel plug. I just got off the phone with a Mouser customer service rep and she said that whatever's listed on page two of the datasheet (5.5 mm outer diameter) is correct. I'll just have to wait and see...

Re: ASUS VG248QE (G-Sync) Won't Turn On
Oh, it seems the same adapter is sold on that site too and there's plenty left in stock. I might as well buy the same one unless it has a known defect. Why does the same adapter have a 2.5 mm barrel plug while the new one you linked is 5.5 mm? I'm guessing the inner diameter is 2.5 mm and the outer ...

Re: ASUS VG248QE (G-Sync) Won't Turn On
The lights in his room all went out and he had to reset the circuit breaker to get them working again. I thought my room was unaffected because my lights, computer, and extension cords were all working. You bring up a good point, though. I've already opened up the monitor and I didn't see or smell a...

ASUS VG248QE (G-Sync) Won't Turn On
Hi, it's been a while since I posted on these forums. My 3 year old VG248QE decided to stop working today and I was wondering if someone could help me troubleshoot. It won't turn on, the power button doesn't turn blue like normal, and none of the other buttons (OSD and brightness) bring up on-screen...

Re: LightBoost Problems
I've been testing lightboost recently on my XL2411T, usually in Team Fortress 2 at around 140fps. However, while on the online image test the comparison between lightboost on and off is night and day, in-game lightboost off feels smoother and more homogenous than lightboost on. Furthermore, even th...

Re: Backlight Freaking Out on System Start
Since you mentioned that you turned on the monitor only after Windows had already started booting, try this: Shut down the PC, and turn off the monitor. Start the PC but leave the monitor off. Wait until Windows has booted up completely, then turn the monitor on. Does that reproduce the issue? I've...

Backlight Freaking Out on System Start
This issue happened for the first time today on my VG248QE, which I've modified using the G-Sync Upgrade Kit. I left ULMB on last night as I shut down my PC. G-Sync had been enabled globally, if that matters. This morning, I turned on my PC first and then my monitor. At the Windows login screen, the...

Re: ROLL CALL: Who uses LightBoost=10%?
I used LightBoost @ 10% brightness exclusively in order to minimize motion blur as much as possible. The decreased brightness was noticeable at first, but I quickly became used to it. Now that I have ULMB instead of LightBoost, I miss having the strobe length setting. In the future, I really hope th...

Re: [G-SYNC Kit] WARNING! Be careful with brown clip/blue ri
Thank you for the heads up regarding this connector. I installed my G-Sync upgrade kit today and it was fairly easy unlocking this connector since this info was made available beforehand. Pushing the pointy end of the plastic shim into the guide holes on the brown clip did the trick. The connector t...
