Re: Samsung QD OLED

The chart with 100 brightness is the supposed 260nits in SDR. The lowest point is around 160nits. This is already 100nits dip, more than 1/3 total brightness, in just SDR, at 175Hz or below. The chart doesn't even show the HDR dip in brightness. It can be even bigger dips in HDR. The stress when lo...

Re: Samsung QD OLED

Compare to other monitors, I can certainly feel the stress when looking at it. The brightness graph shows increased 100nits dip in just SDR, not even mentioning HDR. https://i.imgur.com/HCGWbTQ.png Anything being recorded - assuming it's being done correctly - is a brightness oscillation with the p...

Re: Samsung QD OLED

I think this is likely why the flickering is worse. The frequency of the flickering is the same as the refresh rate of the monitor. It's 175Hz and below. It is a rather low frequency. For the past months, I use the monitor in a dim room and I often find my eyes rather stressed after using the monit...

Re: Samsung QD OLED

It seems AW3423DW has strange flickering. How long can you play games with this monitor? Hae you ever noticed any fatigue? https://youtu.be/Ny7Nlk0V9DA . This has been covered a fair bit, and isn't anything like PWM-based dimming solutions from the past. It's a normal feature of OLED panels, and sh...

Re: AW3423DW officially available for everyone at dell website

As stated before, I cannot do the same effective 180° shot in games with AW3423DW. This is not a problem with XL2546/XL2546s with or without strobe light. In comparison, AW3423DW is not smoother moving the image around. Different reviews or their numbers differentiate. Maybe their test methods are ...

Re: AW3423DW officially available for everyone at dell website

AW3423DW VSYNC OFF, GSYNC OFF, Uncapped FPS, did not feel as smooth as GSYNC ON for competitive FPS games. I assume it's caused by the large screen size, 175Hz, and screen tearing with a near zero pixel response time. If I played a game with 1000fps (Quake, Diabotical) it felt very smooth, but a ga...

Nvidia G-sync compatible driver for Zowie XL2546

After updating the OS to Windows 11, the screen tears are all over the place on Zowie XL2546 when R6 runs at 400-600fps. The issue was noticed before on Windows 10 but Windows 11 has even more tears. One of the 2019 Nvidia drivers has Zowie XL2546 with G-sync options when DyAc is disabled but I coul...

Re: BENQ Zowie XL2746S & XL2546S (*DISCONTINUED*) Owners Thread

I wonder how BenQ/Zowie plan compete with IPS 360Hz, between frames latency 2.77ms Vs 4.16 , is mandatory get this improvement. Zowie already wins 8 months ago at CES. Everybody who've compared Zowie with that 360Hz IPS agrees that 240Hz TN is snappier than 360Hz IPS. why would benq zowie release s...
