Re: BFI + HDR injection - is it desirable...? [Answer: Yes + your choice + adjustable]
Hey, Let me pick up that microphone for you... Your response makes me think that you felt I was attacking you in some way - I can assure you I wasn't. I know that you're an expert in this field and that your work with Mike Chi on the RT4K is highly valued. I'm no scientist and, whilst a lot of what ...

BFI + HDR injection - is it desirable...? [Answer: Yes + your choice + adjustable]
Hi all, The RetroTINK-4K is able to increase the brightness of the image when BFI is on, which sounds like a good thing, but is it? Surely the flicker comes from going from a colourful, bright screen to a black screen and then back again very quickly. Logically, surely the brighter the actual image ...

LG CX vs. RetroTINK-4K BFI - confusing...
Hi all, The BFI feature in the RT4K is great news and sounds like a big step forward but I find it confusing: I understand that the RT4K needs a 240hz screen to minimise motion blur by 75% (approx.4ms persistence). But the LG CX can achieve 4ms persistence with only a 120hz screen. How is the TV abl...

Re: I read talk of 1000fps in the future but will this benefit existing games?
Thanks for the responses guys! Seems both depressing and hopeful. I guess we really don't know what's going to happen but it seems that maybe the big boys probably won't care and it'll be up to the fans to create a solution. Speaking of which - I'm hopeless at this stuff but would it ever be possibl...

I read talk of 1000fps in the future but will this benefit existing games?
Hi all, As we know, the death of the CRT has been a major blow for those of us who can't stand the motion blur of sample-and-hold technology. I'm always on the lookout for the tech that will give us back what we took for granted for so many years. I have an LGCX which I use with BFI max which is gre...

Re: Dear ViewSonic: Please Add 60 Hz Single-Strobe for PureXP on XG270
Thank you so much for your response Chief. Can I just ask: You'll currently get less motion blur and less latency with a 60Hz single-strobe monitor, but you might get more strobe crosstalk (trailing faint afterimage), but less flicker and far better colors with the CX OLED. Just to clarify - which o...

Re: Dear ViewSonic: Please Add 60 Hz Single-Strobe for PureXP on XG270
My LG 4k tv is terrible with tv/films but with games I assume it's not the LG C9 (50% blur reduction for 60Hz) or LG CX series (75% blur reduction for 60Hz) The new LGs do a much better job of blur reduction via rolling-scan OLED BFI. Thanks for the response. I just have a few questions, if anyone ...

Re: Dear ViewSonic: Please Add 60 Hz Single-Strobe for PureXP on XG270
This thread has given me hope for my favourite hobby. I'm passionate about video games but since losing my CRTs it's been a nightmare. I had no idea about motion blur/ghosting etc. and how bad it would be. I assumed that today's tech would be superior to the CRTs of old - how is this level of motion...
