To explain the price drop, the VS account manager I've been speaking to told me that the XG270 was going to be discounted until around the end of September. What is the reason of discontinuing? Will ViewSonic have an updated version? Discounted, not discontinued. Discounted = price reduction.

Yeah, ViewSonic have said to several people on here that they aren't stocking it in Europe. It's why I posted this thread asking for alternatives.
