Re: 1440p 480Hz WOLED vs 360Hz QD-OLED
Thank you for the useful information! I currently have the PG34WCDM so i'm excited to compare them side by side! Im hoping the jump from WOLED to QD and glossy will be good! Thank you
If you already have an OLED, then I'm not sure it's worth it. But it's your money :P
I just am not a fan ...

For hdmi 2.1 you can use 10Bit without dsclostinpixelation wrote: ↑07 Oct 2024, 11:30Pretty sure you still need DSC for 360Hz @ 1440p (in 10bit) just fyi
they fixed the panels with new firmware

1440p 480Hz WOLED vs 360Hz QD-OLED
I am debating between these two panels
PG27AQDP and FO27Q3 / MPG 271QRX
I cannot decide if the extra 120Hz is worth it in FPS games.
If QD-OLED/Glossy is worth it.
The QD-OLED is cheaper by quiet a bit ($250) and is in stock.
also I don't need DSC for HDMI 2.1 :)
But mostly just wanna see if anyone ...

Re: PG27AQN + ADA
Its not frame skipping, this is the most fluid the panel has been since having it imo. 0ms jitter is so nice.
I was referring to this:
I can get 290Hz but its unironically less smooth than 250Hz bc of jitter.
If your meaning of "jitter" was something else in this case (achievable frametime ...

Re: PG27AQN + ADA
thats weird it says for 2560x1440 that 1440p 250hz is only 27.65Gbps and DP 1.4 can do 32.4Gbps
I was speaking generally. It depends on the monitor.
In the PG27AQN's case, it goes 360Hz 1440p max with DSC on and 240Hz 1440p max with DSC off. I.E. it doesn't have a factory overclock with DSC ...

Re: PG27AQN + ADA
UPDATE: got 250Hz to work at 1440p and I can get 290Hz but its unironically less smooth than 250Hz bc of jitter.
If anyone with a 240Hz OLED could try to run 250Hz lmk if it works. I wanna have 0ms jitter

Re: PG27AQN + ADA
It’s DSC.
If you want to use things like DSR/DLDSR and custom resolutions, you’ll need to disable DSC (which will limit it to 240Hz) in the monitor OSD.
Can I do 250Hz without DSC?
Unlikely, since 240Hz 1440p 8-bit 4:4:4 chroma maxes out the non-DSC/native bandwith of DisplayPort 1.4 ...
