Re: XL2720Z-B, some questions

"XL2720Z-B" is also written on your monitor box as is mine. The service menu lists the panel model. My one is AUO M270HTN01.0 and when I go to http://www.panellook.com and search for "M270HTN01.0" , clicking on the entry will reveal the panel to be "6-bit + Hi-FRC." Don't be disappointed. These ...

Re: XL2720Z - "Display Mode" is limited to "Full" at 144 Hz.

hmmm... Then since the monitor processor is pushed to the limit at 144Hz, it makes sense that the extra processing power needed to scale down to other display mode sizes wouldn't be there. I think BenQ should let you write their bloody manuals.

XL2720Z - "Display Mode" is limited to "Full" at 144 Hz.

Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
nVidia GTX 590
Monitor firmware ver: 2 (woohoo!)
Using the DVI-D dual link cable.

After searching the net and stuffing around with menu settings trying to discover how to enable display mode sizes other than "Full" I dropped down to 120Hz from 144Hz and a slew of choices ...

I'm curious about my MStar ISP upgrader.

What does the switch do?

What do the red, yellow, and green LEDs signify?

What is the purpose of the three 4-pin headers? A small ribbon cable arrived with the unit and fits into the middle header and is terminated at one end only.

Why are there two VGA connectors?

Can this upgrader be used on ...

Re: "Menu and Exit to Burn in Off"

OMG, I'm brilliant. I thought I tried that combination a half dozen times yesterday. It's hold down Menu (button 4) and press Exit (button 5) while the monitor is in standby cycling block colours in order to exit the in-burn mode. Now the strobe utility works without an error.

Thanks, me.

Why, you ...

Re: "Menu and Exit to Burn in Off"

At least I now know how to get to the service menu. It's different after the upgrade.

1) The PC should be on.
2) Turn off monitor (press Power button)
3) Hold down Menu button and press Power button once.
4) Continue to hold down the Menu button until monitor turns on.
5) Release the Menu button ...

Re: "Menu and Exit to Burn in Off"

Some of the monitors (11Z vs 20Z) have conflicting instructions.

Instead of pressing the MENU button, press a different button, I think the second or third from top. Even try the fourth. Reboot (power cycle) the monitor if necessary.

Let me know if this works.

Hello, chief. The menu button is ...

[FIXED] "Menu and Exit to Burn in Off"

I tried out the MStar upgrader by hooking up the VGA cable, but the ISP tool would only respond with "program file not ready" until I went into the service menu and set “DVI HPD” to “On”. It eventually found the device after that, even though I have no DVI cable hooked up between the upgrader and ...
