Re: PSA: Manufacturers Need To Add 60 Hz Single-Strobe Support For Gaming Monitors [Or Bad Reviews]

I suspect 60 Hz strobe is definitely something it takes some time to get used, especially if you haven't used it for 15 years like some of us. I wish you (us) luck with this and I hope they don't just make their own shell certification - "BlurWrecker - we approve all of our members' top models!"

Re: Epic Games Technical/Graphics Director says future is blurry, old man

... I think even with FRAT you'll be interpolating blurry frames. Garbage in garbage out. There's no temporal accumulation technique (DLSS, TAAU, checkerboard rendering, temporal injection, Unreal proprietary technique, other proprietary techniques...) that result in clear frames in motion. One of ...

Epic Games Technical/Graphics Director says future is pretty but blurry, old man

https://mobile.twitter.com/BrianKaris/status/1327712610364522496 TLDR: Push for ray tracing and other effects leaves developers in position of having to combine lower resolution frames over time. This in theory shouldn't be much of problem for stationary scenes but causes significant blur in motion...

Re: Cheapest 1440p display with constant strobing brightness (at least 200 nits), where strobing is linked to framerate?

Have you ever used a strobe backlight mode on any model of any computer monitor? I've used CRTs up to 2000 and some year. Much later I've tried BFI on 2018 Samsung TV and an Acer (I believe) gaming monitor. In both cases it resulted in significant dimming. Unfortunately, this is what BenQ says abou...

Re: Cheapest 1440p display with constant strobing brightness (at least 200 nits), where strobing is linked to framerate?

All monitors dim to an extent when strobing, but if you use DyAc-branded voltage boosting, they are less likely to dim nearly as much. If brightness is a problem, get something DyAc-branded from BenQ. My bad, I thought XL2411p was DyAc branded. XL2411k apparently is DyAc branded yet this video (htt...

Thank you for your time, you've been very helpful.

Can anyone confirm that 2411p doesn't dim when strobing? At least at 144Hz?

Re: Cheapest 1440p display with constant strobing brightness (at least 200 nits), where strobing is linked to framerate?

If you meant: “ Can I configure a 144Hz monitor to output 90 refresh cycles per second (90Hz refresh rate) using high-velocity-delivered refresh cycles with a 1/144sec scanout, and then strobe the 90 refresh cycles ”? Then Yes. Oh I get it, although I would assume introducing custom refresh into th...

Re: Cheapest 1440p display with constant strobing brightness (at least 200 nits), where strobing is linked to framerate?

You're linking framerate to the Hz (User tweaking), not the other way around Let's say I only care about 200, 300+ cd/m2 brightness while strobing, what are my options? Also, can you force strobing at 90 or 100 times per second while setting a framerate limiter to 90/100 fps one of such monitors? 1...

...and not panel refresh rate?
ELMB-SYNC is the only tech that officially does this
Thanks.
Though am I wrong for thinking I read somewhere that BenQ had similar tech? Something about voltage-boosted strobing?
