Re: IPS Motion Sickness VS TN

Some newer high refresh rate (especially, but not exclusively IPS) monitors have awful FRC and pixel inversion artifacts. I don't get motion sickness per se, but I do notice them a lot more than the average person. Something like some people being able to distinguish the 50/60hz lightbulb flicker. Q...

Pixel inversion artifacts - why are they so common in 2020?

After having experienced major inversion artifacts on an AOC 242G / 242GU, I've been looking for a monitor without them. I had an opportunity to test a couple of widely various monitors at an electronic retailer. Refresh rate isn't as critical for me as any interference or image artifacts so I've te...

Re: Pixel inversion on Va?

And just wanted to ask if thats a normal behavior for Va as well and don't just pointlessly rma. It depends on the display model and panel in my experience. With one model all monitors have inversion patterns. With another model some do and some do less or none. It depends. If you don't find too ma...

Re: would it be possible to lit alternatively 1/4 pixels of a 4k monitor to quadruple the refresh rate at 1080p ?

Even at 1080p the display refreshes all pixels, so it's limited by its design. So you can't force it to only refresh certain pixels. Search this forum and the blurbusters site for "scanout" if you're interested how the display is refreshed.

Digital foundry on YouTube has frametime measurements for consoles in most of their reviews.

Re: Omen X 25f issue - Vertical black lines.

Pixel inversion most likely.

Does it look different on different framerates?
Have you tested for inversion artifacts on testufo and lagom.nl? If you get flicker there it's normal, but how it flickers might give an idea of the cause of those lines.

The best I was able to capture them: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vpdxaTBcpdWWBi76toxcA4eQeSBJ6YM9/view?usp=drivesdk (Frames out of order) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Yb3viwCYn57LPS1hfirvMlKV-1CTMP8G/view?usp=drivesdk (Slow motion video) I hope the compression didn't mess it up too bad.

Re: Panda 144Hz IPS Panel Pixel Inversion Issues?

Did changing the refresh rate change the artifacts appearance or intensity? Yes. At 60Hz it was even worse. I highly recommend returning it and buying another one. Thanks, but unfortunately I'm out of the return windows. No luck with AOC support, too. Mine actually doesn't have any visible artifact...

Just wanted to state that 24G2U is the same as 24G2 . Wasn't able to find this thread at first.

Re: Panda 144Hz IPS Panel Pixel Inversion Issues?

Does your monitor have any visible artifacts with regular use, or are they visible only on the inversion test patterns? The new one does not suffer from those inversion artifact issues. Glad it worked out for you! Did changing the refresh rate change the artifacts appearance or intensity? I have si...
