Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion

Yeah, it gets a bit confusing when looking up latency test results. I was under the impression that we're looking at a 10ms minimum latency between CRT and most g-sync LCDs, with a few ultra-low latency outliers that only show a difference of about 4ms (like the PG258Q). However, considering the te...

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion

The best G-SYNC monitors are closer to <4ms, to the best of my knowledge.

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion

Alright, thanks guys, you've convinced me. I'm going to give G-Sync another try for a week with the recommended settings in the guide. :D Whether you use G-SYNC all the time or no, the great thing about a G-SYNC display, is you have the option of a standard fixed high refresh rate, G-SYNC, and stro...

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion

Right, <144 FPS V-SYNC OFF on a 144HZ display is not optimal in any situation. In fact, V-SYNC OFF anywhere below the refresh rate at any Hz is probably one of the worst frame delivery experiences you can have. If I didn't have G-SYNC, and I couldn't sustain framerates very high above my refresh rat...

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion

Wouldn't frames being delivered much faster make things look and feel more responsive? Maybe I'm crazy, but I feel input lag when I cap my frame rate at 144 fps. Depends on how many frames you are sustaining above 144Hz at any given time. Again, as you might have already seen in the diagram I embed...

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion

I noticed something whilst playing Rising Storm: Vietnam... When I have gsync activated with nvcpl vsync my cpu usage is higher. In fact one of my cores is pegged at 100% a lot more of the time. This game is basically single threaded as it's based on an old engine. I have a 2500k overclocked to 4.6...

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion

With 240Hz GSYNC capped to 60fps for emulator, you can reduce emulator input lag from "33ms/50ms" (top edge/bottom edge lag) all the way down to "0ms/4.2ms" (top edge/bottom edge lag) -- over two refresh cycles less lag thanks to eliminating VSYNC ON buffers *and* using a 1/240sec scanout of a 240H...

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion

An in-game limiter can know when a good render-start-time would be without actually having to render anything. Correct, thus the closer to the source the better, as in-game limiters are at the level where the render time of a frame is actually calculated in the first place. Take it easy on Jorim. W...

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion

Glad to do them (it answers a few lingering questions of my own), and it validates your theory more than it doesn't. As for MPRF, we can likely project the exact same scenarios as I last posted between uncapped/in-game/RTSS, but add or remove a couple of frames of delay across the board depending on...

Re: Blur Buster's G-SYNC 101 Series Discussion

Okay, the results are in... 150% internal res was set, which allowed the test scene to hover in the mid to high 130s, with a 135 average. I set both the in-game and RTSS FPS limiter to 130, and tested them each. The first result below is the previous uncapped test to compare the new tests with as a ...
