Re: AMD Freesync and Nvidia GPU Input Lag
Anyways, I gonna buy the "Asus VG248QE". It's a TN panel. It has true 3ms response time and almost no blur. It has 5ms input lag on 144hz and 10ms on 60hz. No VRR. I wouldn't use VRR Anyways even if I would have a AMD GPU. I'm gonna let you know if it feels better on that one. Sure thing, good luck.

Re: AMD Freesync and Nvidia GPU Input Lag
A why can't I use freesync on a monitor that has no Freesync written in the informations? You mean why can't you use FreeSync on a non-FreeSync monitor? Well, part of it is the firmware on the monitor, part of it is the EDID and resolution timings available to the monitor, part of it is sometimes t...

Re: AMD Freesync and Nvidia GPU Input Lag
2 of the monitors were tested on the website "rtings.com". It's the best monitor review/test website you can find. I'm aware of rtings, yes. Btw, are you sure monitors don't have some type of Freesync Chip in them? Its hard to believe for me, that freesync is 100% software based... If there is some...

Re: AMD Freesync and Nvidia GPU Input Lag
Personally my main guess is that the Freesync Chip in the monitor causes this issue. There's no dedicated "chip" in FreeSync monitors, they have normal scalers like any other non-VRR monitor. VRR operation on FreeSync (and G-SYNC Compatible) displays is instead handled software/driver-side, primari...

Re: Can excessive anti-aliasing cause any input lag?
Assuming you're still stable at your frame rate cap, can too much anti-aliasing (or any other graphical settings) add input lag? The reason I ask is because the jagged lines in rocket league are horrible so I've been cranking up the AA a ridiculous amount. Between the configuration files and nvidia...

Re: 144 fps on 240 Hz vs 144 fps on 144 Hz Display
I believe he's referring to the overdrive performance when the monitor is forced to a physical 165 or 200Hz refresh rate, not when you're playing at 165 or 200 FPS at the native physical 240Hz refresh rate with VRR enabled. So you mean he probably set the display to (for example) 200Hz, but since n...

Re: 144 fps on 240 Hz vs 144 fps on 144 Hz Display
I am not 100% sure what he means. To me it sounds that with 200 to 165 fps VRR (though he says Hz not fps) I believe he's referring to the overdrive performance when the monitor is forced to a physical 165 or 200Hz refresh rate, not when you're playing at 165 or 200 FPS at the native physical 240Hz...

Re: 144 fps on 240 Hz vs 144 fps on 144 Hz Display
That's what I find quite difficult because many tests/reviews for 240 Hz monitors seem to test only at 240 Hz (+60Hz and 120Hz in some cases) but not at "<= 144 FPS VRR". Again, with variable overdrive on native G-SYNC monitors, anything between 0 and 240 FPS at 240Hz with VRR enabled should mainta...

Re: 144 fps on 240 Hz vs 144 fps on 144 Hz Display
talking about displays with G-Sync module (i.e. with variable overdrive). How much in general is the impact on blur, ghosting and latency when a 240 Hz display only receives 144 fps? Could it perform WORSE than a similar quality 144 Hz display? Variable overdrive on a display containing a G-SYNC mo...

Re: FPS drop/microstutter debugging after replacing 95% of the PC and multiple re-installs
Sorry, I don't mean to try and hijack this thread, but how would one go about testing to see if EMI is the cause of performance issues like frametime spikes etc? If you're experiencing severe, frequent frametime spikes that occur across one or multiple PC builds in the same physical location, the s...
