Re: Questions/opinions about XB271HU and 27GK750F-B

Pixel response times. It's about 4ms as stated by the manufacturer. Real pixel response is about 5 to 6ms. That's completely fine for non-ULMB (144Hz for example has a frame time of 6.9ms, so the IPS panel used is perfectly adequate for 144FPS non-ULMB.) But when using ULMB, you need pixels to tran...

Re: Questions/opinions about XB271HU and 27GK750F-B

I did not know IPS panels had any more crosstalk than TN. TN has some, right? Or is it at least possible for it to have none? I think AMD is releasing their new GPUs in some months from now. Would be nice if they made some FreeSync protocol for sync'ing up with backlight strobing / motion blur reduc...

Questions/opinions about XB271HU and 27GK750F-B

So I've been making an effort to research what I could (I've actually been a reader of blurbusters for a couple years on and off, now.) And I'm looking to buy a good monitor for gaming (not just twitch shooters or competitive games as I don't play that competitively, but it's sort of a foucs.) I'm l...

Re: List of monitors that supports ulmb higher than 120hz

I was actually wondering this myself. Was hoping the XB271HU would be capable of increasing ULMB to 144hz, since the monitor is overclockable. I know the LG 27GK750F-B can run 1ms persistence at 240hz. But it's a freesync monitor; can't run freesync at the same time. And you can't change the length ...

Re: Asus PG27U and Acer X27 Impressions (4k/144hz/features)

I feel a HUGE difference between 4k 144hz and 240hz. No clue what it is. I don't feel like it should be this pronounced. Could it be pixel response times? Or motion blur? More pixels means there's going to be more motion blur. 144hz = worse motion blur, 4k = more pixels, 240hz = less motion blur. I...

Re: G-Sync and ULMB at the same time is in fact possible!

I'm not sure what allows G-Sync and ULMB to be on at the same time. Firmware options? Is there any chance the Acer Predator Z1 (Z301C Tbmiphzx) can utilize G-Sync and ULMB at the same time? (It's an ultrawide that can run 120hz ULMB). And since I'm talking about it now, how much of a problem can a V...

Re: Freesync working on Nvidia cards again

It's hard to justify the cost of G-Sync. Especially since it doesn't play well with motion blur reduction / ULMB. At least that's how I see it..

Re: 1ms MPRT = motion blur reduction?

Thanks, Chief. Do you know what determines input lag? I'm thinking this monitor might be good enough for me - would rather use a link from blurbusters to buy, though. So maybe I'll just wait a bit and see if any deals popup.

1ms MPRT = motion blur reduction?

As I understand it, 1ms MPRT is basically a form of motion blur reduction so I don't need get something like LightBoost ontop of it, correct? I'm looking to buy a decent-ish gaming monitor. I know some FPS games don't need really benefit from motion blur reduction but I still really want it, and I'l...
