Re: Training for CS:GO with net_fakelag (observed pros)
I've actually been experimenting with this command in CS:GO quite recently. The idea was to use it during bot practice to get the same circumstances as a real game. One thing to note is that the fake latency gets double what you enter (net_fakelag 20 = ping of 40) What I've noticed is that having a ...

Re: Freesync vs no-sync, Input Lag matched FPS, CS:GO?
The answer is a mix of preference, conditioning, lack of familiarity with how VRR actually works, and the fact that standalone V-SYNC off and VRR do have a different overall "feel." Thanks for your answer. How can there be a different feel. If I'm not mistaken, ther difference would the 0-2 ms diff...

Re: Low-Input-Lag mode Monitor?
The only claimed "lag" of FreeSync is simply the mandatory scanout latency, but FreeSync is lower lag than all sync technologies (VSYNC ON, Fast Sync, Enhanced Sync) with the sole exception of any sync technologies that shows tearlines, such as VSYNC OFF (thanks to realtime splicing of frameslices ...

Low-Input-Lag mode Monitor?
My monitor Acer XF252Q has an option for Low input lag. However, this option is greyed out when enabling Freesync. Hence I was wondering if that would mean it's disabled or enabled when using Freesync? I believe it should be enabled but when it's greyed out, it says that the option is off which I fi...

Freesync vs no-sync, Input Lag matched FPS, CS:GO?
Hi! I have two questions that i haven't been able to find an answer to. 1. As I've understood, If FPS is equal, then Freesync doesn't add any measurable / noticeable Input lag (according to the gsync 101). If so, then there shouldn't be a difference between 230 fps no-sync vs 230 fps freesync in ter...

Re: Asus VG279qm/VG259QM vs MSI MAG251RX. in depth comparison of the best IPS 240hz(i've tried them all,Amazon BAN incom
That's the two monitors I'm considering. VG27AQ and VG259QM. There is also the VG27BQ here in Sweden which is in between the other two in price. The BQ has the same specs as the AQ but is a TN. I have tried the BQ, but returned it for the QM. It's close to impossible to decide, for me. I have alway...

Re: Someone say this guys about "Large VT" [input lag reductions]
When using a "overclocked" vertical timing, how can you tell if it's too high besides the screen becoming black? are there any artifacts to look out for or is everything good if there is an actual picture showing with the "overclocked" vertical timing total? Easy. Horizontal Scanrate (also called “...

Re: Someone say this guys about "Large VT" [input lag reductions]
Now some panels allow overclocked dotclocks, e.g. 1/280sec frame delivery at 240Hz. So you might have a larger dot clock budget available, permitting 60Hz refresh cycles to be transmitted over the cable in 1/280sec. But not all panels are horizontal-scanrate-multisync, some TCON/scalers are fixed h...

Re: Someone say this guys about "Large VT"
Large vertical totals can increase or decrease input lag depending on sync technology. How do you configure Vertical totals if there isn't any known value for your particular monitor? I own a XF252Qx that's 240hz and was wondering which value to use? Also, is there any benefit of a Large VT whatsoe...

Re: Any way to reduce brightness past 0?
I have the same problem too with the XF252QX. I thought it was the missing bluelight filter option. Using brightness 10 as mentioned in the tftcentral review my eyes hurt very much after a 2 hour gaming session. Yeah, I put my brightness to 0 and lowered to contrast in the AMD panel to around 30 wh...
