Re: Frameskipping in layman terms

If you set the exposure for 1/5th of a second, that means that the camera sensor is receiving information for 200 ms. At 144 hz @ 144 fps, each square on the test screen is lit up for about 7 ms (1/144 seconds). With an exposure of 200 ms, around 28 successive white squares should be captured by the...

Re: Is there any difference in input lag between refresh rat

here's one useful way that I think about it (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Assuming vsync off, and no gsync or freesync: Suppose you had a monitor that had 1000 rows of pixels. You're playing a game and running at 1000 fps. Suppose you run the monitor at 1 hz (1 refresh per second). This essenti...

Re: OLED 4K 30" 60 Hz - Dell UP3017Q

The speed at which the frame is displayed. Or maybe I should say the time a frame is displayed on the screen for. Say a frame is displayed for 1 nanosecond at 60fps@60hz, at 60@120 it would be slightly more than a nanosecond because it would have to display the same frame twice but at this point th...

Re: OLED 4K 30" 60 Hz - Dell UP3017Q

Ok let me explain it in words you might be able to understand If you flash the same image twice or more times at a speed which the human brain/eyes cannot detect the double image effect goes away. The reason we see double images when we double strobe is because the persistence is within our viewing...

Re: OLED 4K 30" 60 Hz - Dell UP3017Q

I think at a certain point it's a waste, as the persistence of the human visual system is a factor (the human visual system does have it's own form of motion deblurring, but I'm not sure what it's limits are).

Re: Eyetracking while playing Overwatch

very cool!! Would be cool to overlay this information with an actual demo of the gameplay.

Also would be interesting to watch certain parts in slow motion.

Thanks for these detailed thoughts CRTguy. Really valuable, especially coming from someone who has firsthand experience with the FW900.
