Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz

While I'd agree with the ""pros"" (double quotation marks intentional) that G-sync isn't a point of interest to them due to somewhat increased input lag (though I call BS that anyone can feel the subtle difference) and the fact that at >100Hz tearing isn't a big deal, I would laugh at their faces if...

Re: G-Sync 101 w/Chart (WIP)

I appreciate your hard work and the time you put into that. While I'm not using a G-sync monitor, I'm sure sometime in the future I will so I'll bookmark this thread in case it gets overshadowed by newer posts. Request sticky?

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz

What is your subjective feeling on the 240Hz thing? Is the difference hugely noticable vs 120/144Hz? Is there any "wow" factor like when jumping from 60Hz to 120/144Hz?

Tearing on monitor without gsync

Quick questions. Assuming that: - monitor is set to 120Hz strobed - it doesn't have gsync/freesync - vsync always off - uncapped fps in-game is always above refresh rate (usually around 200) Should I use a frame limiter to avoid tearing? If yes, which frame limiter and what settings should I use? (g...

Re: G-Sync's 1ms Polling Rate: My Findings & Questions

So, assuming those results are correct, there's virtually no noticable latency between using uncapped gsync/vsync off and 1-ms polling rate capped gsync/vsync on? This would mean we can enjoy having absolutely no tearing thanks to capping fps at framerate fullfilling the 1-ms polling rate time neede...

Re: My fresh Asus PG248Q 180Hz experience

If you want to avoid tearing at the bottom of your screen while using Gsync (and Vsync off) on a 180Hz monitor, you have to cap the fps around 152. It's been explained pretty well in this topic: link However if you're fine with a little tearing at the bottom, feel free to cap the fps a little higher...

Re: 32" CRT TV into a gaming monitor

There are CRT monitors than work in 45kHz. This means they support 720p@60Hz. They are expensive though, be prepared to pay at least 500$ for a 32" in good shape.

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz

Gonna wait for a 240Hz monitor with blur reduction option :P I can live with 1 additional frame of input lag. At 240Hz it's only about 4ms of additional input lag. IMHO the benefit of having much less blur will greatly outweight the slight increase in input lag, at least in games when you have to ma...

Re: Confused about MPRT test ಡ_ಡ

So, when he wrote "this specific test is not yet optimized for ultra-low persistence displays", should I interpret is at "if you have an ultra-low persistence display, better have a camera to do this test"? Since it seems my eyes can't handle the higher settings and I don't have a camera to test it,...

Confused about MPRT test ಡ_ಡ

I'm really confused at the MPRT test on the website: http://testufo.com/#test=mprt Trying to test my XL2720Z at 120Hz. For example, when using >those settings< , I can see 3 different images, depending where I focus my eyes. If I focus on the moving alien, I can see the checkerboard pattern (althoug...
