Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz

So let me get this straight. "Dynamic Accuracy" (read: same old BBR) is a groundbreaking feature that makes XL2735 *the* "professional gaming" monitor. Really big deal apparently - enough to charge a lot of money. But no strobing whatsoever on the XL2540? I thought this is what pros want? eSports p...

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz

The hint I got was that anything Zowie is aimed directly at esports and high refresh rates for PC, ie. things the pro gamers request. The non gamer-centric BenQ branded stuff would allow things like G-Sync and FreeSync etc. I'll mention it in my review because I'm directly comparing it to the XL242...

Re: LG 24GM77 issue

Didn't Strobemaster say that changing ANY settings on the monitor causes the colors to get messed up? http://display-corner.epfl.ch/index.php/LG_24GM77 The issue he is referring to is minute details that are imperceptible for a colorful game like Overwatch. The issue here is unrelated to that anywa...

Re: LG 24GM77 issue

Nevermind this thread, it turns out it's just another piece of shit that unsurprisingly survived QA. I thought it's maybe a software issue that could be worked around, but nah. It was alright again this morning, but the monitor goes batshit like this after being turned on for several hours. Blacks a...

Why the hell does the XL2540 have no BBR?

LG 24GM77 issue

I'm on my second 24GM77. Horizontal scanlines are near invisible at 120hz and faintly visible at 144hz in the lower left corner of the screen so I decided to count my blessings and stick with it, despite some clouding, light bleed and even a stuck pixel. Just had to get this out of the way first, be...

Re: Zowie Dynamic Accuracy preview

Seems to me they put funny ears on a XL2730 and "improved" strobing so it's in line with the 1080p models. Well, with the omission of the ability to force single strobing. And of course, decided to charge an arm and a leg for it. VT tweaks work up to VT 1825 now I take it this is an improvement over...

Re: Any 144hz+ monitors without AG (anti-glare) coating?

GSYNC or FreeSYNC? I ended up keeping my Acer XF270HU over the BenQ XL2730 because of the AG coating. The Acer AG coating is what I would say is the lightest AG possible. The only downside is the blue power LED cant be disabled. 144hz + IPS is pretty great. Response time is about 5.5ms average comp...

Re: Monitor Recommendation List?

How much crosstalk is there at 144hz? Could you post a UFO invasion screencap if it's not too much trouble?

Also, what is the calibration like out of the box?

How did they handle AMA (overdrive) this time around?

Re: ULMB/GSYNC Incompatible on Overwatch, What to do...

This is a known issue in Overwatch, people have been complaining for a long time. There's nothing wrong with your system. It's not an Nvidia exclusive problem. I use a 290x and it behaves the same. I feel a massive difference in responsiveness just reducing my rendering resolution to 75% because that...
