Re: Problem with tv overclock [fixed]
So what exactly does it mean if you get frame skipping? That its not actually running at 120hz? ... What exactly is it doing? Frame-skipping means that, while your monitor is reporting 120hz (or any refresh rate above its displayable limit) and accepting the 120hz input, it is dropping every frame ...

Re: Problem with tv overclock [fixed]
The M651d still has all the Advanced Options at 119.878hz, but not at 120hz or 108hz, etc. Also I have edited numerous inf's with moninfo and cru and get 120hz, 109hz, 108hz, 100hz, 96hz, 60hz, 59hz, 50hz, 30hz, 29hz, 24hz, and 23hz listed in the HDTV and Computer resolutions (some in PC, some in HD...

Re: HALL OF SHAME: List of games with locked frame rates (60
Capcom just announced that Dead Rising 3 for the PC would be capped at 30 FPS. Ouch! What the...!?! That is just unacceptable! It is. But Capcom, Ubi, EA, 2K, Rockstar, and other developers are steadily losing PC sales consistently, and are mistakenly attributing those decreasing figures to piracy,...

Re: Problem with tv overclock [fixed]
It sounded promising, but alas there was no perceptible difference. Same skipping as illustrated in blaze_itt's picture. I even downloaded the custom rez utility but still nada. The CRU thread mentioned a pixel click limit for single link dvi and HDMI, and I installed the patch. No change. Would it...

I tried stalking, err, messaging someone with the same handle on Twitter, but their last post was 2 years ago, no response. Is there any way to get this board to send them an email? Are posters automatically subscribed to their posts? Plz respond op! :) http://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?f...

Re: Vizio M651d-A2R 108hz [HDTV overclocking success]
thanks to miraidave 's thread about the Vizio E701i-A3 overclocking to 120hz, by setting the refresh rate to exactly 119.878, I was able to use NVIDIA Control Panel to create a new 120hz resolution for 1080p and confirmed via frameskipping test that it doesn't drop frames, as well as System Info on ...

Re: Vizio E701i-A3 Successfully Overclocked to 1920x1080@120
Confirmed that setting the display resolution to EXACTLY 119.878hz in NVIDIA Control Panel works on the M651d as well! Pretty much none of the other settings I tried worked. The image is all garbled up at 120hz and 119hz all the way down to 109hz, which only works periodically. Add another 120hz TV ...

Re: Sony rep says XBR-65X900B is a true 240hz panel?!
So basically, the best you could get out of one of the "MotionFlow 960" with "MotionFlow Impulse" sets is an input of 120hz (by overclocking of course), with backlight strobing then right? Or at least 120hz at 1080 resolution. At 4K, you're looking at best at getting 60hz input (on the HDMI 2.0 sets...

Dang it. Deleted my last reply when I edited it.
I forgot what I said first, but basically I agreed that your explanation made the most sense.

Re: Sony rep says XBR-65X900B is a true 240hz panel?!
Wait, so what I understood, they were getting the additional 240 frames from interpolation (240>480) and then adding in 480 cycles of strobing (480 frames > 960 frames) to get the 960 number. That all sounds way, way wrong to you too right? That would mean it would have to accept 240hz input, then i...
