Re: Alternative refresh techniques
How much lag will be added for 30 fps interpolation to 1000 fps? Interpolation lag is based on original refresh rate, so converting 30Hz(fps) to 1000Hz(fps). So one-frame look ahead for interpolation will create 1/30sec lag, 33ms. So the higher the original rate, the lower latency of interpolation....

Re: BenQ XL2420Z Settings and Firmware Upgrade help!
The BENQ has extra picture adjustments if you scroll down the onscreen BENQ menus (some picture adjustments are hidden offscreen below the bottom of the BENQ menu), as there are some gamma-affecting adjustments in there.

Re: XL2420Z V2 FIRMWARE on Amazon.com! [CONFIRMED]
They are already V2 when buying from BENQ's EU store. Some scattered reports of V2 from various Amazon EU stores, but should probably be becoming consistent this month or next. If you want to take the risk, go ahead and click the above links in my post above -- just be prepared for conditionally doi...

Re: Input Lag my Monitor
Although I'm not sure about the frame skipping. Only three boxes show in your picture. There should be more, and the orientation of your camera doesn't help. Camera orientation does not matter. It can be rotated in any 360 degrees and still be valid. However, a longer exposure is ideal - lower the ...

Re: Mouse 125Hz vs 500Hz vs 1000Hz is noticeable during stro
Photographic proof that my microstutter math is correct. Long camera exposure (1second) while the mouse arrow moves past. For practical purposes, I had to limit to a mouse movement of 960 pixels/second (approximate, via chasing a TestUFO motion object with my hand on a nearby black window). http://w...

Re: Mouse 125Hz vs 500Hz vs 1000Hz is noticeable during stro
compare reading dragged text when monitor is set to 100hz vs to 120hz. At 100hz, there is no microstutter at all. True. However , when you turn VSYNC OFF, you're no longer running at 100fps, so the mouse microstutters come back when the mouse pollrate is out-of-sync with the framerate. There can be...

Re: We need sub-millisecond persistence (<1ms) strobe backli
What my eyes see instead, are several 100% blur free images of the rotating scene at 36 pixels (4320/120) distance or of the UFO at 32 pixels (3840/120) distance respectively. So we have the problem of individual images being dozens of pixels apart yet we worry about 1 or 2 pixels of motion blur? Y...

Yep - There's more horizontal scanrate during VT1502 at 120Hz than at Reduced VT during 144HzQ83Ia7ta wrote:At 1920x1080@144Hz Horizontal scan rate hits monitors specifications ~160kHz and increasing VT increases horizontal scan rate. But I almost sure you already know this.

Re: Have LCDs really changed at all?
There are still quality issues/uniformity/brightness problems(pwm)/light edge leaking/panel lottery/default colour accuracy etc going on and the best monitors on the market under $1k mostly tend to ONLY be good at one or two things... The LCD had a race to the bottom, for the price. So the quality ...

The Microstutter Mathematics a.k.a. Beat frequency effects between the Hz of the mouse and the Hz of the monitor. (Assumes framerate near refreshrate, e.g. 120fps @ 120Hz, no beat frequency effect from framerate behaviors) 125Hz mouse poll, 120Hz refresh, 1920pixel/second mouse movement (125 MOD 12...
