Re: Eye-Care Technology / Flicker Free, Backlight Strobing etc.

I use the stobing feature in the Retro Arch emulator all the time. I think it's the greatest thing ever for my eyes. I'm sensitive to PWM flicker but I can't see the flicker from the strobing. I'm going to buy the XG270 that gets talked about a lot on this forum. That one supports 120hz BFI and it's...

Re: Asus Rog Strix XG279Q review. The fastest 1440p IPS monitor*

Minor amount of image retention is really nothing to worry about. Most games don't do flicker-patterns that build up a static-electricity charge in the pixels (temporary image retention artifact). I've never seen this become permanent, although if someone ran for 2 months 24/7, it might take many m...

Re: Questions about XG270 and configuration.

Now I'm super interested in this monitor because of this PureXP setting. I tried to read as much as I could on this forum about it but I'm not sure if this has been asked. When it's strobing is it strobed with each refresh cycle? This PureXP 120hz mode sounds incredible.

Re: New 360 Hz IPS Gaming Monitor by DELL

What if you were running say an emulator with Nintendo games would you show improvement with this monitor? I know most these games run at 60FPS but do you get the advantage of the 360hz at least from a motion blur stand point? If that's the case it would be worth it to me even if it added some inpu...

Re: XL2720, awful ghosting for 2D games at 60fps

I have only have 1 display that supports 60hz singlestrobe and still have not been able to completely eliminate crosstalk about 10% at the top of the screen remains I use a VT of 1350 because that's the maximum my display will support. I think you can potentially eliminate the crosstalk if your dis...

Re: Xbox One X - 30 fps question

30fps is extremely hard to fix the blur of. Using Game Mode low-lag interpolation (i.e. Samsung NU8000 series) is one of the few ways to make 30fps much more blur-free, but your gaming monitor doesn't have any kind of interpolation built in, and most interpolation is not game-friendly. Almost every...

Re: Xbox One X - 30 fps question

I recently beat Doom on PS4 and that game is 60FPS what tricks are they doing to eliminate motion blur? They add motion blur. This actually eliminates FPS motion blur. You can test this on the PC version of Doom where you can disable motion blur. At 60FPS, disabling motion blur makes it look quite ...

Re: Xbox One X - 30 fps question

Well, it's not like you can do anything about it :P For me, the only case where 30FPS does not bother me that much is in very slow-moving games. Due to the consoles not being mouse-driven but instead using analog sticks, most games are slow-moving (your can't look around using a mouse), so I suppos...
