Re: 1440p 144Hz overclocking
Those crappy monitors have artificial refresh rate caps to block overclocking. Sorry.

Re: MonoPrice Monitor 30" 2560x1600 @ 120hz
This monitor has caught my eye, but lack of sufficient reviews makes me hesitant, especially from TFTcentral. As I don't have a DVI-D, the cheaper overclockable korean panels are off the table. Being 30" and overclockable would be very nice. Do not buy this POS. It skips frames, making any overcloc...

Disable refresh rate cap
How can I disable the out of range message that pops up when a Samsung 1080p LCD is overclocked past 77Hz? I understand that this may need firmware hacks.

Re: Best CRT-like gaming monitor? - speed & color
The only thing that is like a CRT is, well, a CRT... Sure, you can get the motion quality or color quality of a CRT on a LCD, but you can't have both color quality and motion quality.

HALL OF SHAME: List of games with locked aspect ratio (16:9)
Some developers are failing to support aspect ratios other than 16:9. This is unacceptable. Post games with locked aspect ratios here.

Re: Just hit 340Hz!
Interesting. I thought that the maximum refresh rate that CRT's were capable of was 200Hz. I assume you have to bypass the monitor's ' out of range ' protection in order to do this? If so, how exactly do you do that? I might be interested in testing higher than 170Hz on my CRT. Also, doing ...

Re: Just hit 340Hz!
Sweetness! (which web browser is that?) Now you want the GPU silicon to push 340 frames per second through that! Or run some older games. That's Chrome. Unfortunately, I had to drop to 240p to do the 340Hz. It was more of a test to see how fast a good CRT could go and to see what extreme refresh ra...

Just hit 340Hz!
The yokes gave out around 350Hz (the monitor is fine when refresh rate is lowered; no CRTs were harmed), with the image bouncing up and down the screen, but 340Hz is still absolutely incredible. Imagine what modern CRTs could do!
EDIT: 344Hz also works fine.
