Re: Asus VC239H with Xbox one [Color/Greyscale Calibration]
Limited Range is usually easier, but Full Range is better if calibrated. This is a budget 23" 60Hz IPS monitor, so it should look "ok" -- can't fix motion blur but blacks shouldn't be crushed. Ideally, you want full range for the least banding (countouring) artifacts. Then recalibrate the monitor's ...

Re: BENQ2411Z HELP NEEDED!
Instant mode is running by default on the Z-series monitors upon plugging it in for first time -- and when running in regular FPS modes / non-strobed / non-ULMB modes. Instant mode was a menu option but since it's the default mode of operation in most 120Hz+ monitors, the setting is not in the menus...

"ZOWIE" monitor not compatible with Strobe Utility
The failure is due to the "ZOWIE" in the monitor model name. We have a new version of Strobe Utility that adapts to the "Zowie" part now -- however, I'm waiting to hear back from BENQ first because auto-detection logic is still suspect. I am also waiting for a replacement Comodo signing certificate ...

Re: 144hz and stutter
Interesting. It doesn't happen on my iPhone or iPad (iOS 10.2). What model iPhone and version of iOS are you using? Older iPhones had problems with these due to RAM limitations, especially when there was more than 1 test embedded. I'll have to debug that.

Re: Dell SG2716dg judder
Well I like the dell but motion is choppy like it frame skips or something with any kind of motion. Best seen with ULMB or vsync on. Just wondering if anybody here has heard of this complaint. Have a good one! Is this worse than other ULMB, LightBoost or other blur reduction (strobe-backlight) disp...

Re: 144hz and stutter
HI, I have a fast question: will i get stuttering if i set refresh to 144Hz but ingame i will get only 120fps with VSYNC OFF? On 75Hz monitor when i dip below 75fps stutter is obvious. Addressing original question. In regards to stutter, you will still get stutter. But the stutter will be less at h...

Re: Asus 240hz native new screen
How does strobe crosstalk look at 240Hz? Full screen of TestUFO Alien Invasion is a good test pattern for verifying strobe crosstalk. It will probably be very bad at top/bottom edges and relatively clear (faint ghosts) in middle. Generally, the higher the refresh rate, the worse the strobe crosstalk...

Re: Best monitor so far even if 1080p
If you're very picky about smooth motion, and you don't mind interpolation (24fps -> 120fps as well as 60fps -> 120fps), the combination of VG248QE + LightBoost + SVP makes for very smooth blur-free video. Color will not be very good but the images will be very blur-free (except any original blur by...

Re: Suggestions for large-size TVs with blur reducing featur
I can't believe anybody honestly uses sony's impulse . I have the w802 and the flicker and dimming male it unusable to me though I wanted badly for it to work. To the O.P. definitely try before you buy. The flicker is quite bad with 60Hz strobing, but there are users (Falkentyne, etc) that totally ...

Re: Best monitor so far even if 1080p
LightBoost is not usually good for movies unless you're playing 120fps HFR movies or SVP-enhanced (24fps -> 120fps with fake interpolated frames). Strobe backlights in LCD monitors (or any low-persistence display) work best when frame rates matches refresh rates. Also LightBoost monitors, are typica...
