Re: Attempting to understand modern TN's vs IPS

Yea, that's a pretty good understanding.

IPS with <3-4ms would be pretty dope. tiny color shift is a big deal imo, it makes TN look so much worse compared to IPS.

Re: ASUS VG278Q 144Hz mode stuttering

Try using "LCD reduced" and also try lowering the Vertical and Horizontal totals.

This is not just a error with the test and your monitor is fine?

Also you did try and use the reset.exe you get with CRU right?

Re: What the heck does this Frame Skip result mean?

Re: ASUS VG278Q 144Hz mode stuttering

Have you been messing around with custom resolutions and settings in NVCP or CRU? because bad settings can cause frame skipping. you could MAYBE adjust the timings in NVCP to fix the issue. But mainly you plugged it into another computer and it still skipped? Sorry mate, you might have a pooped moni...

Re: Seeking advice on a monitor purchase

The answer is the same pretty much all the time, if it fits your budget get the cheapest 240hz G-Sync, they all use the same panel and their performance is identical and pretty great. If you can't afford a G-Sync then it's kind of a crapshoot because no one would have all the different 240hz and kno...

Re: Overclocking monitor Philips 246E7QDSW

It could be just the chip not being to handle the bandwidth and glitching out.

The only way to check is with a new cable lol

Re: Overclocking monitor Philips 246E7QDSW

i really doubt it. I've only seen it on long or faulty cables.

When i had a custom monitor that could OC a 120hz panel to 270hz i used a 30cm cable to get the highest hz possible and to prevent this issue  my PC was pretty much touching the monitor.

Re: Overclocking monitor Philips 246E7QDSW

I believe it could be a cable length issue. Make sure that you are using the shortest cable possible and make sure you're using a true dual link DVI. If i'm right that would mean that the more pixel clock you push the more it will cause the pixels to flicker. A way around this is by using a lower VT...
