CES informal reference to Blur Busters
Well, if the efforts of Blur Busters are not making it to the manufacturers, they are at least making it to the top review sites such as C-Net.

Yeah, I am still a huge IPS fan myself. When I see a TN display, I just groan.

Re: Panasonic pushing motion portrayal [scanning backlights]
As usual, you are the man, Mark. I'm going to visit the Panasonic booth and ask them some questions about their backlight scanning methods after reading some of your research. Not that I expect much, but it would be great to find out if Panasonic is looking at these issues that you're pointing out.

Re: Panasonic pushing motion portrayal
Last year, as I mentioned elsewhere on this forum, Panasonic was the only "big-boy" display manufacturer (IE: non PC gamer display) that I noticed demonstrating backlight strobing to eliminate retinal blurring. It was a very small little area and it seemed they weren't making it obvious what you wer...

Panasonic pushing motion portrayal [scanning backlights]
At the top of the HD lines, there’s the 55-inch TC-55AS680U. It has a native 240Hz refresh. Of course this could be simple frame insertion. But who knows? http://hdguru.com/panasonic-2013-tv-lineup-4k-and-lcd/ Continuing along, http://hdguru.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Panasonic-CES-2014-Photo-T...

Really, what model numbers? Can you quote specific information supporting your claim. I know of none. View http://www.blurbusters.com/faq/120hz-pc-to-tv/ and then scroll down to the comments section to read model numbers listed; there are users who successfully tested dozens of models and posted ab...

Holy price points Batman! I love Lenovo and they continue to make a name for themselves. I have a Lenovo 2560x1440 A730 machine that also does 10-touch-points. They are out front with this machine as well. UberGizmo has more photos of this display http://www.ubergizmo.com/2014/01/lenovo-thinkvision-...

Re: Sony Bravia
If you want the backlight always on, you might consider a Seiki @ 120Hz. But you will probably find games easier to play once you get to a certain skill level even if the flicker bothers you. It's not just a visual thing. But it's interesting that some may prefer to have zero flicker and blur instea...

Re: Samsung 2013/14 line 1080p/120hz overclocking [Samsung H
There are ONLY two displays that I know of that are 40" or larger that can take a 1080p120 signal from a computer. There are several models that anecdotally manage to do 1080p @ 120Hz -- check the comments section: http://www.blurbusters.com/faq/120hz-pc-to-tv/ No guarantees, however! Really, what ...
