I got a spare GA-H110-D3A motherboard and G3900 celeron cpu + VGA cable + 8GB 3.0 USB stick. Is this enough to do the upgrade via linux? Which linux do I get?

I just can hardly believe it would make a noticeable difference. I personally can't tell difference between 500 and 1000mhz on 800dpi. Can someone please post an example of how terrible 100OD looks? I keep hearing how its "literally unusable" but no one has actually presented an example of how 100OD at 280hz looks. Some people say AMA premium on XL2411 is unusable however it has never bothered me that much to have some overshoot...
