Re: Anyone else find 60 Hz unworkable?

I recently had my trusty GTX 1060 break on me, fan issues, and had to revert back to the Intel HD graphics on my i3-4100. On top of this, either because I had to use a VGA cable, or because Intel's drivers suck, my 120 Hz monitor, the AOC C24G1, has been limited to 60 Hz. I'm not much of a gamer my...

TN option with native 60 Hz single strobe Early used XL2720 series, 27” TN. IPS option if using emulation: Viewsonic XG270 Are you playing emulation? If so, you can purchase any 120Hz-strobe-capable IPS panel and use the RetroArch software black frame insertion feature to convert 120Hz hardware str...

Re: I cannot use a display anymore?? Please help me find out devices I can use! PWM/BFI/Hz

There is an app called OLEDSAVER that allow OLED Smartphone owners to have their display flickerfree. It force the OLED display to go on 100% brightness, and it will apply a filter on it to lower the intensity., so you can use the smartphone like it has a brightness sensor. Does this work for PWM s...

Re: If you are sensitive to PWM, will you also be sensitive to BFI or strobing backlights?

I am incredibly sensitive to PWM but I have no issues with BFI strobing. I have the best monitor for BFI though which is the Viewsonic XG270. Chief created the strobing for the XG270 and it's incredible and reviews are incredible when comparing it to a CRT for motion clarity. I also use the BFI mode...

Re: PSA: Manufacturers Need To Add 60 Hz Single-Strobe Support For Gaming Monitors [Or Bad Reviews]

Totally agree with everything said here. The motion blur is so eye straining playing old content on new screens. It's the reason I still own 2 CRT's just so I can play all my old consoles. I don't mind Retro Arch as long as I'm using the BFI 120hz mode though.

Re: New 360 Hz IPS Gaming Monitor by DELL

I want to buy one of these XG270's soon and was wondering do you keep the Pure XP 120 mode on when you use Retro Arch?? Or are you supposed to turn it off and use Retro Arch's BFI??? Is that a new feature with Retro Arch the 240HZ BFI mode?? I saw your thread about the 180HZ mode but never heard ab...

Re: New 360 Hz IPS Gaming Monitor by DELL

I understand the math of doing (1000/60=16.7ms vs 1000/240=4.2ms) in order to get delay times but if Freesync is active is there still a benefit in having a 240hz or higher display for playing 60fps games in RetroArch or MAME? I have an HP 27f IPS 75hz freesync monitor in my MAME cabinet which is a...

Re: Headache and eyes strain with new 240Hz monitor

To my above answer I can add: (A) Try Low Blue Light mode, or a warm color temperature (4000K or 5000K instead of 6500K). Does it help partially? There is Comfort View preset in OSD. It helps, but only a little and maybe it's placebo. I also checked different setting for brightness and contrast wit...

Nvidia Software Black Frame Insertion

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/343225/optional-black-frame-insertion-settings-to-reduce-/?commentPage=2 So I found this thread I think it's just a request to Nvidia not entirely sure. Does anyone know if they're adding BFI as a software option in the near future?? ...
