Re: Out of sync or motion blur

I think that's a good mointor.. Maybe overdrive response times are set too fast? Maybe the in-game "motion blur" setting is on? Or maybe it's just normal sample-and-hold motion blur Thought I'd answer first, but you'll get more responses from others.

Re: LG 27GK750F-B - 240Hz, 27" 1ms Blur reduction, Freesync

I think I discovered why the mouse feels so laggy to me. Apparently this monitor has 6-7ms of signal processing lag? :o Supposedly if you run in "original" mode (not 1:1) it takes a frame or 4ms off that "signal processing lag." A Solid Lad discovered how much lag it has, then someone else discover...

Thanks to all 3 of you. Actually looking at the Nature article helps a bit too.

Maybe find a decent monitor on sale, at least to try out, and resell it later.

Re: I think I need a new screen?

There are lots of reasons your monitor could be a problem, as far as I know. IIRC, the display signal can make your monitor feel laggy too. So I can't help, but: If you think the problem lies with your monitor, Dell S2716DGR is on sale at best buy for BF, even cheaper if you have Samsung Pay I belie...

Re: Optimal Settings for Fighting Games

I think you cap your FPS 3 frames below max hz (141 for 144 hz) when using G-sync, IIRC. Take a look at that article again, iirc, it explains what to do. https://www.blurbusters.com/gsync/gsync101-input-lag-tests-and-settings/4/ Lowest input lag would be g-sync off, v-sync off, and MBR/ULMB off -- a...

Re: Black friday deals?

LG 27GK750F-B is on sale on BuyDig (not on Amazon..) with FALLSAVE code.
S2716DGR on a bit of a sale on Best Buy. It seems like quite an excellent monitor. Maybe we'll see it on sale on Amazon for BF.
XB271HU 2560x1440 with PICKFAST code (might need eBay phone app) on newegg's EBAY store.

Re: Graphene Display capable of 400 Hz+

"Membranes in a graphene MEMS can be moved by applying an electric potential and, together with the large optical absorption of graphene (2.3 percent of visible light)" 2.3% of visible light is a "large optical absorption"? How? Or did they mean 2.3% of the EM spectrum (visible light range on a loga...

Re: Help with Monitor selection

My personal thoughts are you would benefit from IPS viewing angles (and if their colors are calibrated), and 1440p. The XB271HU can also be overclocked to 165hz, and has g-sync. G-sync will give you a smoother experience especially when frames fluctuate. I'm not sure if you're interested in motion b...
