Re: Anandtech freesync review.

You don't understand how freesync is working RIGHT NOW. If you miss the 25ms deadline, it takes a full 25ms to repeat the previous frame. It doesn't let you send a new frame after a 7ms repeat, you have to wait the full 25. Take a look at the PCPer review. I see what you mean. I went back and read ...

Re: G-Sync game compatibility - Post your test results here

I know that Hard Reset's engine (also used in Shadow Warrior) is known to not run smoothly. Tomb Raider has been one of the smoothest running games I have ever played on my system both with my old GTX 760 and my new GTX 970.

Re: Inherent click delay found in mice.

It's pretty interesting that the response time of mouse clicks can vary so much. But the part I find most interesting is that the most popular mice with pro gamers are far from the most responsive, whereas Logitech mice which are generally ignored in pro gaming in my experience are all frontrunners...

Re: Anandtech freesync review.

This is what PCPer's Allyn Malventano said in the review comments: That was with the original upgrade kit *only*, which juddered between 24-30 FPS. The retail panels do not have this issue, as additional redraws are proportionally centered between the incoming frames (as best as the module can appr...

Firmware update for DIY kit?

Does anybody know if nVidia ever released a firmware update for the DIY kit? I'm curious since I recently learned that the retail G-Sync monitors have improved functionality at <30 fps and it would be nice to have that on the VG248QE as well.

nVidia Interview - Why G-Sync Is Superior to FreeSync

I thought I'd post this here, an interview with nVidia's Tom Petersen about what makes G-Sync better than FreeSync and why he believes that it's worth the extra cost. Whether or not you agree with him it's a pretty interesting read about what goes into providing a good gaming experience with variabl...

Re: Anandtech freesync review.

Also show that g-sync operates even in below DRR range by showing a frame to the screen 2,3,4,or 5 times http://www.pcper.com/files/imagecache/article_max_width/review/2015-03-19/gsyncdiagram_0.jpg Has this ever been confirmed? I just read an interview with Tom Petersen from nVidia saying this was ...

Re: G-Sync game compatibility - Post your test results here

Right now i'm trying 3 games out, if the fps fluctuates on them the mouse stutters but if i use a gamepad it is silky smooth if the fps jumps about the games tested Tomb Raider, Batman Arkham Origins and Ethan Carter. My mouse is a Razer Abyssus at 1000hz polling rate, infact if i turn the polling ...

Re: G-Sync game compatibility - Post your test results here

Well in some games it is a gamechanger, just that the games I was hoping it would have a beneficial impact with wasn't to be the case. Thing is, those games you mentioned going well are already silky smooth on their own. Sleeping Dogs, Max Payne 3, Tomb Raider, Crysis 3 and even Shadow of Mordor wh...
