Re: Help tackling the 2233RZ "3D mode": similar to LightBoos

http://www.blurbusters.com/zero-motion-blur/lightboost/ then click on "Alternate Instructions (Advanced EDID Override Method)" Thanks, but it seems that this method (and most of the others too) requires an Nvidia graphics card. The whole point for me is to make it work on any card, although I guess...

Re: Help tackling the 2233RZ "3D mode": similar to LightBoos

Aha, now that makes sense. The question is whether the higher horizontal scanrate can be activated via timings, or if it is done internally in the monitor itself. If you want to test this, try increasing vertical total until horizontal scanrate matches 185000. This would be done via a Vertical Total...

Re: Help tackling the 2233RZ "3D mode": similar to LightBoos

LightBoost is a strobe backlight technology. See this high speed video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hD5gjAs1A2s The Samsung 2233rz does not support a strobe backlight. The higher horizontal scanrate (number of scan lines per second) is simply to scanout the LCD pixels to the screen faster, with a...

You can also run Strobe Utility to determine if you have the latest version of the firmware, too.

Re: Looking to buy "overclockable" 1440p IPS

There is also a Blur Busters article on this: Overclockable 1440p 120Hz IPS/PLS Monitors There are several great models, including the one that you link. However, if you want to get a USA warranty, try the Overlord Tempest X270OC which is similar and also uses an IPS panel. Don't forget the consider...

Re: XL2420Z Vertical Total 1350 -> black screen

Hey, I just got my XL2420Z and am setting everything up. When I tried to do the VT1350 trick and clicked "Test" (Nvidia) my screen went black and stayed black until I hit Ctrl + Alt + Del. Any ideas? This is often caused by the Crosstalk setting being wrong. Try launching Strobe Utility and sliding...

Keep in mind that smaller the VT, the worse the strobe crosstalk (double image effect) becomes during motion blur reduction (strobe backlight operation).

I've got some correspondence -- the plan is for the paper on my invention is going to be presented at a conference this December in Japan. I will be listed as one of the authors of this paper, along with display researchers. Currently, I am not sure yet (budget-wise) if I will be joining yet. My "sh...

Re: Picture artifacts with VT1350 tweak on XL2720Z

Anyone noticed a blinds type banding effect on certain colors when using the VT1350 tweak. It easier to see on blue/greyish colors. Short answer: This is normal as banding artifacts often shows up on all current 24" 1ms panels the higher the refresh rate you go (e.g. 144Hz). The VT1350 tweak accele...
