Re: Mac OS X 10.5 Pixel Clock Bypass
Is there a way to bypass the pixel clock limit is OS X 10.5? My PowerMac G5 Quad needs 240Hz (overclock PCB), but custom resolutions past 125Hz don't show up is System Preferences after installing them with SwitchResX (Basically CRU for OS X). This is the 165MHz limit in the drivers of some connect...

I want 2560x1600, not 1440p.flood wrote:I'm not too familiar with the korean 1440p displays, but I think the qnix is the most popular and capable one for overclocking.

Re: Sony FW900 or ROG Swift?
Also consider that the FW900, even though it says it's 24", it's a CRT, so it's not really 24". It's has more like 22" visible area. So if you're currently on a standard 24" TFT, then the FW900 is going to be a downgrade (when it comes to size, of course, since with everything else, it's an upgrade...

If it's not a CRT, FED, or SED, it MUST run at the max resolution, if not, massive blur will occur.flood wrote:eh
IMO there's nothing wrong with upscaling 1080p to 1440p if your rig can't handle it.

Re: Sony FW900 or ROG Swift?
The swift has a higher maximum resolution and refresh rate and GSYNC. If your rig can handle running games at 1440p I would go with the swift. I can't even use G-Sync because I have a 290X. The FW900 can unofficially do 150Hz-200Hz at its 1024x640 and 60Hz-85Hz at 2880x1800. The monitors seem to be...

Can C.R.T Monitor Overclocking Damage The Monitor?
I know that if a LCD is overclocked to high, it just blackscreens and doesn't suffer any permanent damage. However, I am considering getting a FW900 to replace my junk TN/77Hz/1920x1080, but I want to have a higher-than-stock refresh rate. Can overclocking a C.R.T monitor cause permanent damage?

Sony FW900 or ROG Swift?
Which one would be the best for gaming? Money, size, and power consumption are not important to me.

240Hz
How can I get a LCD to refresh at 240Hz? I know that another member of this forum was able to get a LCD to 240Hz, but how? The video for the 240Hz VG278HE didn't show how to build the PCB.

No mods done: Sony FW900 CRT. Modded monitor: VG278HE with 240Hz PCB installed.
