Re: Lightboost with low FPS - Leave on or turn off?

Yeah you can make pretty much any refresh rate with CRU. Just make it as a custom refresh rate. 75hz is fine. You will probably need to enable 'single strobe' in the service menu (using the windows utility automatically enables single strobe) if you're at 75h or lower. There's a list of refresh rate...

Re: XL2411Z + PS4 = judder/ghosting/blurring

Just saw that video. You have single strobe set to off, which makes the monitor DOUBLE strobe at 75 hz or lower (actually I'm pretty sure 75hz is the cutoff because vertical total tweaks at 76 hz cause strange stuff to happen) but anyway, enabling the checkbox in the windows blur reduction utility a...

Re: BenQ XL2420Z V2 or XL2430T

Not only is it not a gimmick, try this: Make a custom resolution to do the 1500 VT at 120hz with these settings: 1920x1080 48,3 porch 32,5 sync 2080/1500 HorizT/VerTotal Pixel clock will be 374mhz so you will need the pixel clock patcher. Save it and run toastyx's restart.zip (you can run the pixel ...

Re: BenQ XL2420Z V2 or XL2430T

I think you have your tinfoil hat on. In non instant mode, it feels like a 2233rz panel did. The 2233rz was one of the first 120hz panels out and the early panels were very high quality (made by Samsung's own Korean labs), while later panels were made by a third party vendor which were nowhere near ...

Re: What monitor to buy?

You won't be able to tell a difference in input lag with our without the VT tweak at 120hz. At most it will be about 1 frame or so. You'd probably feel more of a difference going from a 500hz polling rate on a mouse to 1000hz. Also going from 100hz vsync on to 144hz vsync on will give you lower inpu...

Re: What monitor to buy?

Hmm, for those specs, grab a XL2430T or 2420Z or 2720Z and turn on blur reduction, use the VT tweaks to reduce crosstalk a bit and enjoy. You won't need a gsync monitor since your FPS will never drop below your refresh rate anyway, so you'll benefit from motion blur reduction. Another thing you can ...

Re: Lightboost with low FPS - Leave on or turn off?

TBH it doesn't matter. If you have it on, you'll get double/triple image effects if you have it off, you'll get a massively blurry mess. the real issue is lightboost is best if you use Vsync, and if your FPS drops that low with vsync, you usually get a lot of input lag. if you never get refresh rate...

Re: BenQ XL2420Z V2 or XL2430T

Apparently has to do with image quality during some video or image processing. The manual says to leave instant mode disabled if you're using certain video replaying sources. So...I guess turn it off if you're watching movies?

Re: BenQ XL2420Z V2 or XL2430T

That review is a piece of crap. he even has instant mode DISABLED then trying to compare another screen with instant mode ENABLED and claiming the input lag went up. Of course the input lag is higher with oranges to apples settings >_> Here's a real review of the 2430T. Notice the input lag hasn't c...

Re: Strobelight causes monitor to display noise

You did everything right. Deleting all established and standard resolutions and only adding the 2 or 3 lightboost refresh rates, in detailed resolutions (100, 110, 120hz at 1138, 1143 and 1149 vertical total (horizontal is 2200 or 2080, both work) prevents the monitor from ever going OUT Of lightboo...
