cathode-ray light bulb

https://phys.org/news/2019-06-low-power-technology.html

Check this out! You can't tell me that this isn't cool technology, imagine a light bulb powered by the old tech that used to power your CRT TV's.

Re: Every LED monitor causes eyestrain. Please help.

The truth is this monitor is so good I can't visibly tell the difference between this and my plasma in terms of motion blur. I played sonic 2 on it and couldn't believe how smooth it was. When I have it running on my computer the max I can get is 120hz because I don't have display port. It still cau...

Re: Every LED monitor causes eyestrain. Please help.

Re: Linus Tech Tips + Slow Mo Guys Teams Up For 240Hz Tests!

I watched this video is was great. I'm also a big fan of when he runs the slow mo camera against a CRT playing Mario for the NES.

Re: 24gl600f

I nominate this monitor for best console gaming monitor. Beating out the Benq2411p because the over drive feature allows me to play old systems with no eyestrain. You have to use the 60hz strobing on the benq and it's immediate eye pain for me. I just gave this LG monitor the Sonic 2 test and it is ...

Re: ASUS XG248Q input lag at 60hz?

Do Switch games run that good to begin with? Most games are 720P at 30 FPS. I feel like you are going to get trouble no matter what monitor you buy. I saw Chief mentioning a certain Samsung TV that has Interpolation do deal with 30FPS games and that no monitor is setup to deal with it properly. Chec...

Re: 24gl600f

This monitor is incredible. I have been playing my RetroAVS which is FPGA for NES carts and it's just unbelievable. Contrast at 50 overdrive on max and visually I can't see any problems with blur. 8 hour gaming sessions no eye strain.

Re: Is the XG2402 the best 144Hz monitor for games?

Hi. I have LG24GL600F for 3 days now, and to me is the best 144hz monitor, because it improved what lacked on the previously best, XG2402. Contrast is higher, colour banding is non existant and the slightly smaller screen is a plus to me . ! I just got the LG24GL600F today. you seem to be an expert...

Re: Eye strain from 144hz monitors. Plz help

What about playing different games? Is it just this game that is causing the strain? See if you can rule that out. Some games are known to cause certain people strain. What about blue light? Buy a pair of SCT orange glasses off Amazon they are super cheap. These are the only true way to block blue l...

Re: Eye strain from gaming

I primarily play overwatch at night. I currently own the BenQ XL2540. I love the monitor. Except the colors look very washed out unless I turn the brightness up to 100%. The problem is my eyes strain after an hour of playing on a bright screen at night. If I turn the brightness down to 50% I don't ...
