Re: EXCLUSIVE: We have a 480 Hz monitor!

Every line must be driven every frame, so no black bars along the top or bottom. The game render engine should be aware of this, at the very least through FOV manipulation. The limitation on refresh rate is three-fold 1) Line clock. Above a certain line clock, lines may fail to register and the enti...

Re: EXCLUSIVE: We have a 480 Hz monitor!

So you agree with me about the monitor's selling points. Which begs the question, what is the quality of the picture of this monitor in comparison to say Asus or Acer monitors at 4k and 1080? The things mentioned at 480hz didn't sound good beyond the resolution. Do you see the composition of the mo...

Re: EXCLUSIVE: We have a 480 Hz monitor!

I'd just like to chime in on the discussion. Lack of overdrive is a bummmer. There are four options here : don't implement it, use a premade implementation, implement it yourself, or do it in software. Using a premade implementation (realtek/mstar/whoever scaler) was not feasable for a two-half disp...

Re: EXCLUSIVE: We have a 480 Hz monitor!

Request for chief: Could you do a remake of this: https://www.blurbusters.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/MouseStepping-60vs120vs240.png But featuring 480Hz! It looks as you'd expect, twice as many cursors as 240 with one exception. Even with a 1000hz mouse, you can see dropouts where the cursor fai...

Re: Custom OLED Rolling Scans -- Custom Built OLED Monitor

The problem here is lifetime and burnin. OLEDs get dimmer as they age. Regular LEDs do too, but not nearly as quickly. As you reduce active time, to keep the same light output, you must increase peak brightness. This is a MASSIVE problem with OLED. Why? Because OLED aging is proportional to brightne...

Definitely yes. Well if i wanted to get a particular panel for this project could i tell how well they will perform from TFT's panel parts?http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/monitor_panel_parts.htm Would a panel with better sRGB coverage look better? and a better response time react quicker? I ki...

Re: No-latency overclockable (up to 1080p@~270Hz) board preo

I'm sticking to my theory of overcurrent protection in one of the powersupplies in the tcon. Your fpga board doesn't have enough i/o. You need 2(pairs)*4(channels)*5(ABCKD)*2(inputs+outputs)=80 pins available. Overcurrent protection makes the most sense to me as well. Hadn't considered that back wh...

Re: No-latency overclockable (up to 1080p@~270Hz) board preo

I'm guessing you have one of those 27" samsung PLS panels? No fix for it that I know of. It might be the panel itself and not even in the tcon. Dunno. For the korean ones that you're talking about, you're probably talking about the popular M240HW01-V8 24" 144Hz panel. I have a beta-tester which has...

Re: No-latency overclockable (up to 1080p@~270Hz) board preo

The boards should work with any four channel 8-bit lvds panel. If the panel is only 2ch, it probably isn't interesting anyway. For 10bit stuff, you'll have to wait for the displayport version. For 8Vx1 and 8ch lvds, I have adapters designed but not yet built. The boards in most of those Korean moni...
