Re: nVidia's CES Press Conference
If you have any interest in seeing very large speakers or cars all decked out with crazy sound systems, CES is good for that too. https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/134988_1698894425179_8328190_o.jpg Alright, sorry to hijack the thread. We are absolutely interested in NVidia's th...

Re: nVidia's CES Press Conference
ROFLMAO (at myself)... https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc1/135579_1698884024919_998804_o.jpg I'm just glad at least the display industry is "waking up" and "smelling the coffee" instead of chasing 3d and bad implementations of HMD (with latency and motion artifacts and sickness). ...

39" < 40" LOL.
Seriously, though, it's amazing that this is a first in this size. Even more amazing how it was accomplished!

Re: SEIKI 4K 39" HDTV now capable of true 120Hz 1920x1080
It's really interesting that the 50" firmware works on the 39". I guess the panels are similar enough for this to work. Aaron, as you have a connection with SEIKI, perhaps you can coax them to make minor modifications of the 50" firmware to allow it to work on the 39". The SEIKI 39" 4K HDTV is avai...

Hey this is great news! I'm very hopeful with this development that Seiki will release a firmware that fixes the remaining issues so we can have a fully functioning display.

Re: nVidia's CES Press Conference
It's unfortunate that these shows are over-run with company spokes persons, models, and sales persons instead of engineers who actually helped to create this stuff and know more about it. My general experience at CES is that once you want to talk about anything technical, you get a response along th...

Re: Sony Bravia
I just updated the firmware and tested. 1280x720@120hz is "not supported" according to the message on the screen when I try to send it that resolution. The set did take slightly higher rates on 1080p, but it was simply frame-skipping every extra frame given to it. So it's of no use at all. The faste...

Re: Sony Bravia
I have the KDL-47W802A. I agree that the Sony 60Hz MotionFlow sets are currently an extremely versatile option as they basically work with regular old 1080p60 signals from anywhere. You can even watch football on television and eye-track movement and it's like having an experience from ten years ago...

Re: Sony Bravia
I'm not sure where you are located, but that 40" is a UK set. I don't know how hard it might be to get outside of the UK, but let me know if you get one. I have the 46" set and motionflow is awesome at 60hz. I recommend it if you're happy enough with 60fps or if you need a screen bigger than 32".
