Re: EXCLUSIVE: We have a 480 Hz monitor!

Haha, calm down. AUO just got done with 240hz. I think that last year there were news about 2560x1440@240Hz monitors coming in 2017. But the 3840x2160@144Hz monitors are delayed until next year... Everything gets delayed! About shipping: from where does it come? I'm in Europe, so if it comes ...

What I meant is having black bars at the top and bottom (Nvidia CP scaling option). It shouldn't be distorted. Is that not possible (because of how this specific monitor works, I guess)?

Re: EXCLUSIVE: We have a 480 Hz monitor!

so you could use 3840*540@480Hz which would be very stretched, but interesting. Waiiiiit. Vertical resolution is the only limitation for refresh rate in this monitor then? So 3840x1080@240Hz would be a possibility, right? Is the monitor also capable of overclocking (using custom timings in CRU or t...

Re: EXCLUSIVE: We have a 480 Hz monitor!

Nice review! You talk about point scaling (I assume it's like nearest neighbor filtering) as if it's a drawback, but actually many people (including me) have been asking Nvidia about it, to have it as an option in the drivers. I think pixelated 1920x1080 in a 3840x2160 monitor is a good idea. It's l...

Re: Can Y axis dependant gamma be a solution for TN gamma sh

Probably a combination of both. The most extreme shift happens in the corners of the monitor, which are both the highest/lowest X and Y values. OK, thanks for the information. It will complicate my math, but it's worth a try. All of this reminds me of the HUD curvature mod I made and included in th...

Re: Can Y axis dependant gamma be a solution for TN gamma sh

I have a monitor that has its panel installed upside-down. Wow. That sounds counterintuitive. Was it a manufacturing mistake? And it would need to be highly configurable to accommodate different viewing positions. In most cases, the effect should apply to the lower-left and lower-right corner of th...

Re: I don't think my desired monitor exist.

Do you notice any ghosting with your monitor and if you don't mind me asking what kind of games do you play? I have a good eye for ghosting, overdrive artifacts and motion blur, so I can notice them even if they are little. In this case, ghosting during games is minimal, although sometimes there ca...

Can Y axis dependant gamma be a solution for TN gamma shift?

I've been playing Trails of Cold Steel lately (great game, by the way), and I have been developing its 3D Vision fix. You know, modifying vertex and pixel shaders (there's a WIP version in the Geforce forums, without the following option that I'm going to explain). By coincidence I found a pixel sha...

Re: I don't think my desired monitor exist.

If you remove your curved requirement, you have plenty to choose. I have the Asus PG278QR and it's the best monitor I have ever had. It's 27", 165Hz (for ULMB+G-Sync, it can reach 125Hz with custom timings, instead of just up to 120Hz), TN, 2560x1440 and with G-Sync. It has good overdrive quality fo...

Re: EXCLUSIVE: We have a 480 Hz monitor!

The 480Hz feature is just a bonus, despite lack of overdrive and not being an OLED panel. Mmmmm, no overdrive? I wonder how it will look. I've had three >120Hz monitors for now (all TN), and they don't look good in movement without overdrive (overdrive is very good in the PG278QR compared to the ot...
