Re: Hello from ASUS [official rep]
Hi ASUS! I asked ASUS to sponsor a G-Sync equipped VG248QE or a G-Sync DIY kit for the VG248QE I already own in order for me to properly review the improved G-Sync color accuracy. I have all the needed hardware and software equipment to do so. A review like that would serve ASUS well since the major...

Eizo Foris FG2421 - Where was yours made? Are you happy?
I just returned my latest purchase - Samsung S27C750P because of how Samsung does business these days. They make these monitors in 2 different places - Mexico and China. Chinese versions have awesome contrast ratio of 4000:1+, but the ones made in Mexico barely make it to 2500:1. Samsung pays BestBu...

Re: VG248QE Color Accuracy with G-Sync - Pro Calibration
As someone pointed out before using 6500K or 9300k is meaningless. 6500K is actually a small range of colors. D65 is the standard which is specifically x=0.31271, y=0.32902. You can get an exact 6504K color temperature and still have it not be D65. Much like all thumbs are fingers, but not all fing...

Re: VG248QE Color Accuracy with G-Sync - Pro Calibration
OK, so you're saying that a normal D65 profile is all that I need for the real 3D Mode because NVidia will just enable correction for green tint? I thought I would have to make a specific LUT for the 3D Mode that takes green tint into consideration. I admit I am not all that knowledgeable when it co...

Re: VG248QE Color Accuracy with G-Sync - Pro Calibration
A few more things: - If 3D glasses really ARE green-tinted and require a specific standard where B and R are elevated, then what kind of a calibration should be performed? I saw some 7500K profiles out there - is that the standard to use if I am to watch 3D movies/games? - Does it also mean that the...

Re: VG248QE Color Accuracy with G-Sync - Pro Calibration
You have to remember that a 6 bit color palette only has 64 steps. When you attempt to modify your gamma curve, you are running into a granularity problem at the lower end of the scale. For example (making up numbers) normally working with 8 bit color your 20% target may be 5,7,3 and 30% may be 12,...

Re: VG248QE Color Accuracy with G-Sync - Pro Calibration
OK, that makes sense. But that should only apply to native hardware characteristics, like contrast ratio, luminance, colorspace, native gamma, white balance, etc. Calibration should fix all of that, but it doesn't. 6500K is 6500K and when its achieved using balanced R, G, and B - the reddish.purplis...

Re: Asus VG248QE G-Sync .icc profile [download!]
Spacediver - you are everywhere I am! Just a recap summary of what was said: ICC profiles contain "vcgt", which is a grayscale LUT, that contains - RGB white balance, gamma, and luminance information. It can be applied to games if you use a good LUT forcing software like Monitor Calibration Wizard, ...

Re: VG248QE Color Accuracy with G-Sync - Pro Calibration
I numbered specific questions I would love to hear answers to and would appreciate your contribution Yes, it is true. If you take in consideration TN uniformity and vertical gamma shift - you cannot consider such a display accurate regardless of the color gamut accuracy. 1a. How in the world do you ...

VG248QE Color Accuracy with G-Sync - Pro Calibration
Helo to all Blur Busters! I am a VG248QE owner but also an experienced calibrator and in the process of launching a website to start calibrating displays professionally. I use i1Pro (certified) spectrometer to profile my i1Display Pro colorimeter. I am really interested to know if someone out there ...
