Re: AMD demos FreeSync (free G-Sync alternative) [AnandTech]
I have doubts this will work on any existing stand alone monitors. I don't think VBLANK intervals were meant to be changed on the fly. I suspect when you change the interval the monitor would behave the same way as when you change other things like the resolution. It would black out for a second and...

Re: Low latency Keyboards
I definitely noticed the N-Key rollover difference though. In gaming if you're pressing a lot of keys at once, strafing diagonally while switching weapons and jumping for example is 4 keys, add crouching and that is 5 keys. A lot of keyboards won't register all the keys. Very interesting, I wasn't ...

Re: Low latency Keyboards
A lot of new gaming keyboards support 1000hz polling. For example the new mechanical Corsair keyboards all have hardware switches that allow you to switch between 1000, 500, 250, and 125hz. I had a Corsair K90 and switched to a K95 when it came out. They both support N-key rollover. I don't think I ...

Re: Battlefield 4
BF4 automatically sets the refresh rate to the highest which would be 144hz, so you have to manually change it to 120hz in the game settings.
You also will want to turn off motion blur in the game settings and probably a bunch of other settings that simulate blur such as depth of field.

Is there a date set on when they are going to officially announce this stuff?

Re: LightBoost turned off by some games [solved]
I started having this same problem in BF4 tonight. I set up a custom resolution, and that seems to have solved the problem for now, but does anyone know how to force Battlefield 4 to use LB in it's native resolution? Thanks! BF4 automatically selects the highest available refresh rate, I manually c...

Re: Bug: middle-click opens topics in current tab too
Hello. This forum seems to have a strange bug that I don't get anywhere else (not just other phpbb forums, but any site in general.) When I middle-click on a topic title in order to open the link in a new tab, the topic also opens in the current tab. The same thing happens when I hold down "Ctrl" a...

Re: Lightboost and Eyestrain, Color Reproduction
Normally I don't.
But it seems like it wears me out a little more if I am getting a frame rate of 90 and using 120hz lightboost. That is probably more of a mental thing than an eye thing though.

I'm just going to chime in and say that I loved The Hobbit HFR 3D. Yes I saw it in 2D/24hz and 3D/24hz, in my humble opinion the 3D/48hz was by far the way I prefer to view the film. Yes I know how much negative press it got. And to be honest I absolutely refuse to let that sway my opinion in any w...
