Re: Raster Interrupt Veterans: C64 and Atari 2600, etc.

We used to do this type of stuff. The good ol' days of the C-64. Yes, the kids who have been brought up on LCD screens often forget that the computer still scans out the pixels no matter how the display handles them. Here is a link to some of these tricks from the past as documented by another fan. ...

Re: Show us photos of your displays!

This thread makes me feel so poor :P VG248QE in the center for gaming, and my old Samsung 226BW on the left to handle extra stuff. The guys who I feel sorry for are those who are spending too much on displays that don't work well for their purposes. You have some capable displays and one that's rea...

Re: Awesome a forum! [+Intro of myself, and my LCD work]

I don't think the cat hurt the display with her claws, but I didn't let her do that long. I don't know if the 39" Seiki can handle anything higher than 60hz, but maybe someone else can answer. edit: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1756171&page=35 -- link says 77hz is max The Seiki facebook pag...

Re: Awesome a forum! [+Intro of myself, and my LCD work]

Bad news, is yeah, the 120hz still doesn't work on the 39" Seiki.

Good news is that the cat is entertained with Mark's app.

I hadn't read much about downsampling, but that's very interesting information!

Re: Vizio M651d-A2R 108hz

I have not yet tested my UN40F6300, and another fellow says 120hz works on his UN32F6300. But I would not assume that you get 120hz on every size of that model. I know the Seiki 39" has issues with 120hz in the past at least, even though the 50" model does not. I know lots of people would like to kn...

Re: Sequels to LightBoost and Similiar

Well I ordered from the East coast to Las Vegas (from B&H) so it's going to take another week for it to get here.

Meanwhile I have a ASUS VG278HE and a Samsung UN40F6300AFXZA here to play with.

Re: Moddable LED Backlight [for brighter strobing]

Also, better color LightBoost exists in the VG278H, which has double contrast ratio and no crimson tint, unlike the ASUS VG248QE. That said, there is no fundamental limitation to improving color quality in strobe mode. I have the VG278HE instead of the VG248QE myself. I may have to wait to get the ...

Re: G-SYNC Upgrade Board Giveaway - FIVE boards!

I haven't participated in this discussion because I own an ASUS VG278HE. I feel like I got the wrong damn monitor! LOL. But in any case, good luck to you other guys vying in this competition. I will probably buy a display with G-Sync built-in as soon as they are available.
