Re: Emulators with G-sync
Hey ninja, I'm sure I've just configured things wrong, but I don't see either "Limit Maximum Run Speed" or "Audio Sync" in my options?

Re: G-sync running on desktop
1. Graphics engines that only run in windowed borderless mode (Unity (responsible for almost all early access games), unreal 4, and dozens more, including many AAA titles) 2. 1:1 refresh matching playback of movieplayers that don't support fullscreen 3. 1:1 refresh matching gameplay of emulators th...

But why though? I don't understand what this makes better? Why would they do this..if there was something wrong with how it worked before, I could understandCalmDownMonkey wrote:it is indeed intentional

Re: G-sync running on desktop
Hmm, what games? Maybe you should file a ticket and let them know, since using the preferred refresh rate option seems to be their intended usage for switching. Also, are you using a Swift? Did you try the Turbo button? Oh, there's a few, wolfenstein new order springs to mind. I know that particula...

Re: G-sync running on desktop
You can get it to switch to 144 hz automatically by selecting "highest available" for preferred refresh rate in 3D settings. Indeed. But it doesn't always work, unless you run the desktop at 144hz as well. Since I run in ULMB 120hz on the desktop permanently, some games will only max refresh at 120...

Re: Firmware update for DIY kit?
That graph averages frame rates out, so rapid flicking between 15 and 30 fps would show that.Sparky wrote:This is from a review of that diy kit: http://www.pcper.com/image/view/35588?r ... de%2F59252

Re: Firmware update for DIY kit?
You mean 30fps to 24fps. I wish. It might be on the other gsync monitors, if they somehow got them to flick to regular 144hz sync when it drops under 30 fps, but not on the kit form VG248QE. It runs at 30hz as its minimum refresh and syncs to half of that when it drops under, ie 15 fps. Same way yo...

Re: G-sync running on desktop
It makes me wonder if the monitor is still attempting to run G-Sync on the desktop since the screen flashes when you first enable it It possibly is running with gsync, but it'll only run at max refresh. I don't think the windows desktop composition ever drops frames, since your mouse cursor always ...

Re: Firmware update for DIY kit?
I recently learned that the retail G-Sync monitors have improved functionality at <30 fps and it would be nice to have that on the VG248QE as well. Yeah, it sure would. The VG248QE is terrible at sub 30 fps. If I know I'm going to be dropping under 30 fps, then I use 144hz no vsync. The lego movie ...
