Re: What is the Future of BFI as a Feature?

It's good and happy news that the Chief is going to help. It's bad news there was no movement towards any LP/BFI work dony by manufacturers on their own. @Chief Can we hope for perfect monitor? OR 240Hz OLED monitor would only get somewhat usable 120Hz mode, for example, and nothing else? Personally...

Re: Very bad news about VR. They're chosing HDR over motion quality

Digital Foundry has a PSVR2 review and the only guy in that team who knows anything about motion in games, mentioned the problem while using a very familiar image ;) https://i.gyazo.com/06a72d46a95daa43206079cfbea63d15.png https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH2uZMsa-es This guy is one of us, people who...

Re: Very bad news about VR. They're chosing HDR over motion quality

As for the Index, I've owned it, a Quest 2 and a HP Reverb G2, and other than the relatively outdate (but not unacceptable) resolution of the displays, the Index is still technically the best jack-of-all-trades PC VR headset around (there are serious trade-offs on the higher fidelity headsets, curr...

Re: Very bad news about VR. They're chosing HDR over motion quality

The psvr2 is a massive disappointment for me so far. Thank you. Much appreciated. I've looked at multiple reviews and couldn't find any info beyond casual observations, by people who don't know much about low persistence or motion. If you say the brightness setting substantially affects the motion ...

Very bad news about VR. They're chosing HDR over motion quality

Hi. Here's the article https://www.roadtovr.com/pimax-crystal-hands-on-review-ces-2023-blur/ Sorry to bring you guys the bad news, but I was very concerned, scared even, about the upcoming VR headsets once I saw the info about HDR. This article informs that Pimax Crystal's motion reproduction is a d...

Re: LG Oled Motion Pro settings

From memory the options are Low, Medium, High, Auto. At 120hz/fps for example, what would each option do? Is there an ideal option in terms of motion clarity for 30hz/60hz/120hz? Does bfi work at other non-standard refresh rates say 100hz? Thank you Hi Find your sweet spot for the game you're playi...

Re: HOWTO: Settings For Full Panel Crosstalk-Free Low-Lag Strobing (ViewSonic XG2431)

I would've expected that 240Hz mode capable of very good motion clarity would be something worthy for esport players.
I guess they'd need faster CPUs and 8000Hz mouses. And only in certain games.

Anyway. Really unfortunate and disappointing decission on behalf of Benq.

Re: Nvidia DLSS 3 Analyzed by hardware unboxed

Yeah. I am disappointed. I expected very good image quality when interpolating from 120fps, and they say that in fast motion the artifacts are still visible. Also, the V-sync ON mode and the horrible 90ms input lag. Just for reference: Since like 20 years, optimally configured online multiplayer gam...

Re: NVIDIA introduces DLSS3, interpolates frames, but is not v-sync compatible.

There's some hope, but the mentioned issues, and the graphs, with very bad 1% lows values concern me.

What good is the added framerate if it dips below your refreshrate with v-sync.

So I'm worried, but hopeful.

Re: Blurred game although FPS high enough?

Watch out for LG OLED TVs, at they go the wrong way. 2022 model has worse BFI support than 2021 and 2021, if I'm not mistaken, is worse in some aspects than 2020 model. As to the "what is enough FPS for smoothness?" question - depends. For perfect motion clarity you need strobing/BFI. This means any...
