HP X34 = 34" Ultra Wide IPS Flat (Yes No Curvature!!!) w/ 165 Hz VRR

https://tftcentral.co.uk/news/hp-x34-with-34-ultrawide-ips-panel-and-165hz-refresh-rate It almost has everything I wanted in a Wide Screen Panel I just wish it wasn't 3440 x 1440 resolution. That's a weird 21½ : 9 aspect ratio. Give me either: 21 : 9 = 3360 x 1440 24 : 9 = 3840 x 1440 This weird 21½...

Re: 480 hz monitors by 2023?

I still want some panel maker to go back and work on SED Panel tech.

I believe that SED was the true successor to CRT's Cathode Ray Tube tech and has a far higher level to grow.

Re: 480 hz monitors by 2023?

Seriously, they couldn't spare an extra 20 Hz and get us exactly to 500 Hz?

Come on!

Re: 1000 Hz: The Journey Begins

https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2021/05/sharp-aquos-phone-has-a-massive-1-inch-camera-sensor/ The display is a Sharp-made OLED with a whopping 240 Hz refresh rate. Sharp has made 240 Hz displays before, but it says this one is the "world's first" display to have a dynamic refresh rate that goes from...

Re: 1000 Hz: The Journey Begins

Well, if you have insider information that displays with such specific refresh rates are planned then you can ask your source to give you an indication of timeline as well ;) Otherwise, you can have a look at my plot but there is no guarantee that displays with such these refresh rates will even ex...

Re: 1000 Hz: The Journey Begins

So Chief Blur Buster, what are your estimates for when Panel manufacturers will hit these next mile-stones:

_400 Hz
_500 Hz
_625 Hz
_800 Hz
1000 Hz

This is of course assuming 2K Resolution of (1920x1080p).

As Blur Busters notices a pattern... Indie manufacturers First 240Hz -- 2013 First 480Hz -- 2017 First 1000Hz -- 2020 (predicted) Mainstream manufacturers First 120Hz -- 2009 First 240Hz -- 2016 First 480Hz -- 2020 (predicted) First 1000Hz -- 2025 (predicted) With displays already maxing out in ret...

Re: FAQ: Understanding HDMI Quick Frame Transport (lower lag)

When do you think we'll get 1 Hz as the low end of the VRR spectrum to be common? Apple pulled it off with a low end 1 Hz on their Apple Watch Series 5 in late 2019 https://www.wired.com/review/apple-watch-series-5/ Where's the rest of the Display Panel industry? The gold standard for Low End of VRR...

Re: Potential HD Mouse Extensions API Specification [ETA by 2025]

Chief Blur Buster, is there a reason why you don't want to push for nano-second accurate TimeStamps instead of Micro-second accurate? I never advocated against nanosecond timestamps. :D While it is practically overkill, there's no harm in increasing accuracy -- there's no defined upper limit of acc...
