Re: Acer announces 144hz IPS 1440p G-SYNC! [XB270HU, XG270HU
is 1440p/144hz the kind of thing I could take advantage of with a single MSI GTX 970? Not in every game... and that is where VRR (variable refresh rate) comes into play. In games like CSGO where you totally can play at 1440p with 250+ FPS, GSync and FreeSync is more or less useless. Actually a hind...

Yeah, I hope that the Chief gets on this Acer 144hz IPS. If it's worth buying, they'll have my money.
27" is perfect, 1440p is perfect for a single card setup, IPS is obviously better than my TN, and as long as the GSync comes with ULMB, then I'm sold.

Re: G-Sync: One Year Later
Yup! For smooth GSync you need to limit your game engine to something at or around 140fps.
I run ULMB on mostly CS:Go because I like to run above 300fps.

Re: Will G-sync ever be fluid at capped 30 fps?
Yeah, anything below 45fps and my whole screen starts to flicker.
I don't care that much, since 60-144 looks so good.

Will it? Is that due to the low persistance? I run ULMB, so surely that's better than OLED?aeliusg wrote:It's 90 hz low persistence OLED so that's pretty good. It'll look better than an LCD at 144 hz.

Re: dual monitor setup (120hz and 60hz)
Dual monitors how? Just two screens is fine, I use the same setup. 144hz and 60hz.
Two monitors acting as one? It seems like that would limit the whole setup to 60hz.
Lightboost should work totally fine at 120hz with a normal 60hz monitor beside it.

Typo there, I meant 90. after spending so much time at 144, going to 60 is jarring. Maybe 90 will be less so.

Hell yeah. I kinda hoped that we could get more than 60fps, but the strobing will help I suppose. OLED is aewsome too.
MAybe we can overclock the displays? I at least have to try.

Yeah, for sure. The problem is that a LOT of people here wont buy something until you've given it the green light Chief.
