Re: Sequels to LightBoost and Similiar
With sample-and-hold what eye tracking looks like to your retina. With backlight strobing what eye tracking looks like to your retina. Just to confirm -- that appears to be strobing at 120Hz, rather than at 60Hz? No, that's a 60Hz framerate on the Sony KDL-47W802A with a 1080p60 input signal in "Ga...

Re: LightBoost Sequel: ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur)
Well, it's good to see research turning into production. It has been a very long 7+ years for me waiting for the industry to catch up to the problems that I see with LCD technology!

Re: Sequels to LightBoost and Similiar
Here's the two 1000Hz movies I made to demonstrate what the set is doing with and without motionflow impulse turned on. This is a good demonstrate of how sample-and-hold appears on the back of your retina. I am tracking the moving object with my 1000hz camera in both of these movies to simulate your...

Re: Need for Speed: Rivals capped @30fps on pc
Well, I am very hopeful after seeing this Sony motionflow even at 60hz that we can have a revival in solid consistent framerate arcade style games. When I initially told my recruiter I wanted to work on arcade racing games, I thought I might have to move to Japan and work with Sega in order to do th...

Re: Sequels to LightBoost and Similiar
Well, my Sony motionflow display is here, but MotionFlow gets grayed out on me. Initially I had it set and I was seeming to make some progress then it just grayed out on me. UGHHHH. I feel like a newb here. edit: Alright .. I had to do scene select "Game" mode before I could do that stuff. Now all i...

Re: Need for Speed: Rivals capped @30fps on pc
You maximum framerate in any racing game should be the framerate that you can hit 99.9% of the time. And when you do miss framerate, that is when you want to do something like "Adaptive Sync." Going from 60fps to 30fps and back to 60fps is a horrible experience. G-Sync solves this and so does Adapti...

Re: Compatibility with Optimus laptops?
I had no success in getting LightBoost to work on a laptop-architecture all-in-one (the A730 from Lenovo). YMMV.

Re: Anyone else waiting for 1440p G-SYNC 120hz+
Gsync in general is something that will work for exploring 3d worlds that have varying performance. Any game that can easily achieve maximum performance every frame will look better with strobing. This includes simple 2d games and other things. Many games that would get the most advantage from backl...

The folks who are passionate enough about these subjects to carry on conversations about it are not your typical forum dwellers. But I have also enjoyed the company of folks on here. Thanks for pointing out what I was thinking which is that this forum has gotten off to a magnificent start. I do expe...
