Re: The Official *Asus VG259QM* Owners Thread (+ Secret Overdrive)

This is some interesting stuff. I noticed you mostly talk about sample-and-hold OD, did you test this with ELMB and ELMBS. Does it affect the ELMBS overshoot range. According to Aperture Grille/a5hun review OD can't be changed when ELMB/ELMBS is enabled. Because of that ELMBS bellow 200Hz/fps has so...

How does backlight strobing work?

Just a quick question. How does backlight strobing work?
I made this picture so I don't have to explain much what I mean.
Is black frame shown every other frame or is it a new one in between? A or B?

We have some overview of yet unreleased Alienware's 360 Hz monitor OSD. Also see how will nvidia measure pc latencies. Amazing stuff.

The difference between 60 and 240Hz on PC shouldn't be that huge as you described. It definitely is noticeable but not a big deal.
If you feel like it in fact is big, than there is a problem. Maybe a mouse? Idk.

Latencies on consoles are always way bigger.

Re: ALIENWARE AW2518HF UFOs | AMD (freesync) vs NVIDIA (g-sync compatible) GPUs

Its just a basic smartphone camera (ZTE Blade A610), hand recorded and freeze frame technique used. So all 3 are same. It kinda worked pretty well. There was no color eqing needed. Just had to scale it properly. "Home made" ufos would probably be just fine for most people. Something is better than n...

Re: ALIENWARE AW2518HF UFOs | AMD (freesync) vs NVIDIA (g-sync compatible) GPUs

Thanks. My test were only the top 3 and last one. Nvidia's ones I found on yt. Here are the originals (22MB "png"): https://mega.nz/file/o4RkyShB#8Bf5g_SUwtGjs2YXXLSo7C41x3H_dNPG86Jtnu-OdQ8 I thought people should know this. They might see online that the monitor has this artifact and then avoid buy...

ALIENWARE AW2518HF UFOs | AMD (freesync) vs NVIDIA (g-sync compatible) GPUs

Images below compare how differently AW2518HF (freesync monitor)(and probably on some other monitors too) behaves on AMD vs NVIDIA GPUs. Many people on Internet reported they have corona/white trail artifact with AW2518HF but my experience was very different and better. I figured researching this mi...

I just saw this review (VG279QM) the other day with same issue. Try contacting him, he's really technical about monitors.
