Laser Beam Scanning is still a thing?
Are these just rebranded Sony MP-CL1's?
Seems to be that way.

Re: Isn't QD-OLED perfect for backlight strobing?
snip Well we'll see, I guess. If Direct LED panels become cheap and big enough to compete with projection than I don't see dedicated projectors being used for presentations anymore, especially considering all the disadvantages that come with them. I'd say portable projectors due to their convenienc...

Re: Isn't QD-OLED perfect for backlight strobing?
That being said, I don't think projectors will ever be fully obsolete, as portable projectors are required to do things like projection mapping of giant buildings I think AR Glasses will start getting used for that eventually. With AR you can see a 3D projection basically and spin it around etc. Af...

Samsung's ONYX screen is 46 feet already.Chief Blur Buster wrote: ↑07 Sep 2022, 19:23(since projection MicroLEDs can't get bright enough to light up a 70 foot tall screen)
I get what you're trying to say with your post but tbh I don't see projection as the future of cinema. I think they will move to Direct LED eventually.

Re: Isn't QD-OLED perfect for backlight strobing?
Education, comparisons, etc. You saw that I wrote “education”, too? So people know the differences between displays, by using only one display. Even the left/right halves could concurrently emulate different displays! The point is: With enough Hz (and HDR and fast-enough pixel response…) a display ...

Re: Isn't QD-OLED perfect for backlight strobing?
Why would we want to emulate DLP when we'll have high-res MicroLED that is superior in every way? Am I missing something here?

Re: 1440P 240hz OLED Gaming Monitor Coming Out
Do you mean because of missing variable overdrive? Gigabyte, out of all, with their Smart OD has proven that variable overdrive without a module is in fact possible, therefore nvidia's overpriced G-sync is unnecessary. FI27Q-X from two years ago has a variable overdrive Balance . Although Smart OD ...

Re: noticing a double image effect when i play 60fps games
^He said "no motion features activated"
So he's getting double image on sample-and-hold.
Maybe it's the kind of frame-doubling effect you get with 60fps@120hz since the GtG isn't perfect.

Re: VESA wants to replace monitor response time specs with ‘ClearMR’ stamps
Advertised pixel response times are always bullshit, to the point where both OLED and LCDs are always advertised with a 1ms GtG claim(even though OLED is much faster than that and technically isn't monochrome so it's not really GtG and even though most LCDs advertised with 1ms GtG are really more li...
