Re: G-Sync's 1ms Polling Rate: My Findings & Questions

Theories are made to be tested, so test away. Mine is founded on the assumption that G-Sync's 1ms polling rate is directly related to frametime. In my testing, tearing at the bottom of the screen begins (note, G-Sync is STILL engaged at this point) just about when the frametime difference between th...

Re: G-Sync's 1ms Polling Rate: My Findings & Questions

Alright, try this one: https://i.gyazo.com/b671961ece77ba0bd3e66c6ddc861ba4.png I say "120-125" within the polling rate, because of both my findings, and the original article's findings. I say "126-139" beyond the polling rate, and "140-144" exceeds G-Sync range because of this: http://www.blurbuste...

Re: G-Sync's 1ms Polling Rate: My Findings & Questions

Okay, so is this getting closer? https://i.gyazo.com/f08b456437f23507487bcace3213e891.png If I'm relatively on the right track so far, a couple of questions remain: 1. Does RTSS always adds an additional 1 frame of input latency over an in-game cap? And would this latency increase apply to both G-Sy...

Re: G-Sync's 1ms Polling Rate: My Findings & Questions

Alright, so what I'm calling "tweening" is called "strobing," and it actually begins at 40 fps and below, correct? If so, I can reflect that on the chart easily. I know the method used (whatever it is called) is akin to older 60Hz TVs with so-called "120Hz" or "240Hz" modes to repeat the current ref...

Re: G-Sync's 1ms Polling Rate: My Findings & Questions

Understood. I'm attaching a "G-Sync Range" chart I just made up to clarify what I've observed thus far. It's a sum-up of nearly my entire knowledge on the subject in a single image. Of course, it is incomplete and contains some speculation, but hopefully it will make the concepts I've been attemptin...

Re: G-Sync's 1ms Polling Rate: My Findings & Questions

I do. To clarify, I'm not a technician. My vernacular is limited to visual phenomena that can be observed on the user-end, purely through practical testing. So forgive me if there is any misunderstanding in my limited presentation here. This would still mean G-Sync's 1ms polling rate is the cause of...

Re: G-Sync's 1ms Polling Rate: My Findings & Questions

So it's merely a coincidence that capping your fps roughly 1ms (frametime) below your max refresh rate eliminates tearing in most instances with G-Sync + V-Sync off, even though this lines up almost exactly with G-Sync's 1ms polling rate and the findings in the original article that a 120 fps cap el...

Re: G-Sync's 1ms Polling Rate: My Findings & Questions

Are you suggesting that there isn't any input lag difference between 120-135fps in G-Sync mode? I've got a camera and i'll be happy to test it but i'm a little confused on what's going on here. Also you can adjust your Vertical Timings to remove the tearing at the bottom of your screen BTW I am not...

Re: G-Sync's 1ms Polling Rate: Findings & Questions

When this 135 cap was suggested, there was no option to disable V-Sync with G-Sync on. So what I'm proposing, is that with both G-Sync + V-Sync on/off combinations and a 135 cap, the only difference in input latency/rendering time is occurring on the bottom of the screen, where G-Sync can't catch u...

may be will help you to get knowledge https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L07t_mY2LEU also check this youtube channel I've actually seen that one, and linked to it before. Good video :) Seems good, though his monitor has about 20ms of input lag, that should be taken into consideration when comparing hi...
