Re: ASUS ROG Swift 500Hz Announced!
Looks like a new FAQ on the Asus support page was created for this monitor. Probably a good sign it's going to be released soon since they talk about Windows updates that are coming in Q4. https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1051119 Q: My PG248QP is limited to 500Hz, why can’t it go up to 540Hz? A: Ple...

Re: Mouse jitter
I think this reply from Razer_TheFiend answers my question. I.e., the polling interval is what matters and not how quickly you move the mouse. It's not a "theory", it's just simple observation backed by data. The "Hz" number is very misleading because people use it as a primary metric when it's actu...

Mouse jitter
If gaming mice require you to swipe quickly to reach high polling rates, is it fair to say that jitter is likely present when not swiping quickly? I assume the answer is yes. For example, an 8000Hz mouse with a 500Hz display should have zero jitter when used together. However, the polling rates of m...

Re: ViewSonic XG2431 Discussion Thread [Blur Busters Approved XG2431 - 24" 240Hz IPS with Best Strobing]
Yeah, I saw it the day he uploaded his video about this monitor and to me it sounded more like he's disappointed because he expected more from 500Hz. But generally, the monitor isn't bad and having 500Hz is an upgrade. I'll hold out for the Asus 540Hz TN panel. The price of the Alienware 500Hz and ...

Re: Input lag at 60 FPS locked fighting games when used with high refresh rate G-SYNC monitors
Also -- "Quick Frame Transport" equivalent is already built into FreeSync/GSYNC . Variable refresh rate displays have have been doing this since 2012. Low frame rates shows large input-lag-reducing benefits on high-Hz variable refresh rate dispays, since those refresh cycles are delivered at full d...
