Re: [Power/EMI] I discover why sometime PC become fast and low input lag and otherwise feel high input lag
Just curious here, but if EMI would cause latency and stutter it would mean something horrible is happening to an extend that it can delay things in an OS for possibly milliseconds, thats a huge time for any OS where we are usually dealing in <nanoseconds. Short of giving errors and BSOD's, are we o...

Re: Is it true that AMD Ryzen has a larger input lag?
No clue, but I appreciate low input latency and 'rawness'. I recently upgraded my system and I'm impartial to a specific brand, but for various reasons I choose Intel above AMD. I guess mainly for their 'proven' architecture and can kind of expect what to get. AMD has great multithreading capability...

Re: Low latency mode for Gsync
Just cap your game's FPS below refresh rate and make sure your GPU usage never hits 75%+, and set pre-rendered to off (default). Personally I enforce max clock on my GPU through MSI afterburner when gaming, so there is also no ramp up time involved. In this condition, there should be minimal possibl...

Hrm. Dropped down to driver 436.48 and no longer observing this behavior.
Also newest driver, I get thrown errors trying to enable G-sync indicator through inspector, seems this got broke?

G-sync Globally On without actually being in range, weird jitter behavior with alt+tab.
I've observed some weird behavior with CSGO when running 240fps (120hz monitor) with G-sync globally on (V-sync off) where the game framepacing starts to become jittery 10-20~seconds after having alt+tabbed back into the game. As soon as it starts happening, I alt tab back out, and back in and it fi...

Re: Display frametime vs input latency.
Thanks for the reply! I'm measuring with 240fps camera with very first mouse movement (Even just a millimeter) vs any response on my screen, anywhere, doesn't matter what spot. In which case shouldn't the average that i would be observing 4.16ms? In which case my tests seem to be fairly accurate; My...

Display frametime vs input latency.
Hi, few questions; 1. If a 120hz screen has a frame gap of 8.33ms, doesn't that mean when testing button to pixel latency, that the average response time solely for this aspect is actually 4.16ms? 2. And doesn't the same hold true for 1000hz mouse polling? The reaction can be anywhere from 0 to 1ms?...

Re: Timer Resolution app worth using ?
Sorry if necro, but the timer affects the internal fps limiters of at least a few games I've tested; CSGO, Rainbow and most cryengine based games. It seems to: 1. Reduce frametime variation 2. Increase accuracy for the fps limit setpoint. Another tidbit: Ive seen the effect of 1.0ms doing 110fps wit...

Re: Cap your fps people (battlenonsense)
Known for years really. He does some good testing, but not always thorough. For instance the 'Game mode' setting allegedly took 5ms input lag off, but never did more testing with it or any follow up. We don't know what he was all running on his system, background apps, etc. I find it hard to believe...
