Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz

so.. can confirm that after rebooting my PC that it reverted back to 144hz and I had to run through the steps again.. something else as well.. Dunno if it gfx card or monitor related but it DID NOT like me minimizing my game.. when I maximized my game again it was really, really choppy.. before min...

Re: BenqXl2540 BlurBusters UFO test

Also, not all display inputs supports 240Hz. Make sure you're using the correct cable, too. Actually, all inputs the BenQ XL2540 has (DP, HDMI, DVI-DL) support 240Hz, but the operating system might not, in which case Toasty's tools help (if the graphics card is up to it). I can only speak for F/W v...

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz

OD-Gain? Sorry if that is a stupid question but I have nowhere seen this in service menu, It is in the factory menu: keep the 3rd and 4th button pushed while powering on the monitor. When the monitor is on, use the 5th button to toggle on/off the factory menu. Unfortunately, parameter changes in th...

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz

BTW strobemaster, you still have your XL2735, right? Have you tried enabling freesync by adding the freesync range in the extension block? (this apparently works on the xl2540 even though this monitor isn't even advertised as supporting freesync on Benq's website). The XL2735 has the exact same sca...

Re: Presenting the ZOWIE XL2540 240Hz

Area? All I can tell you is, 100 has 1 frame lower inputlag than 000, 000 will have slightly less crosstalk but 1 frame higher input lag. That is ASSUMING the Area value functions like it did in the XL2430T, XL2730, XL2735, etc. [...] Blur reduction is partially bugged on this monitor as it wasn't ...

Re: QLED CFG70 quantum dot is here

But Samsung isn't globally strobed LCD monitor. I guess you know it update in 4 steps from top to bottom. From the luminance curves I have seen, it looks rather like 3 segments, maybe it will be 4 with the 27". And the pulse pattern looks the same when frame rates drop (FreeSync), except for the ad...

Re: ULMB(lighboost) & G-sync? [What are technical challenges

Except for having low frame rates in the first place, this does not come from technical limitations but from laws of physics (or psychophysics). The solution to blur-free full persistence without strobing -- is where the refresh cycles are equivalent to strobe length, and there's no delay between v...

Re: ULMB(lighboost) & G-sync? [What are technical challenges

There are a bunch of techniques that might work, but the hard part is human. It's going to take a lot of testing to figure out which artifacts people notice, and how to tune everything to avoid noticeable flicker(which is nasty because different people have different sensitivity to it). And your po...

Re: ULMB(lighboost) & G-sync? [What are technical challenges

I have written down a pretty simple idea of how to combine variable refresh rate and strobed backlight , also implementation-wise pretty straight forward. It might well be that this idea is not exactly new, but at least I never saw it clearly spelled out like that. And if the idea is not new, I wond...

Re: Impulsive scanning Samsung SVA(Super Vertical Alignment)

It only strobes at 144 hz refresh rate, nothing else... Ah, and I was already wondering why it looked so out of sync in the video (link posted by "Q83Ia7ta"). I overlooked that the monitor was actually running at 144Hz. Well, that is too bad then. Nevertheless, it is still shows how fast this SVA p...
