Re: LG24GM77 - more findings

so what is better ? xl2411z/t or lg ?? The LG is better, if you can live with the higher input lag and, as Falkentyne said, leave the color-related settings in the monitor as is (factory preset) - do it in the PC if you really need to. Although I haven't tested this systematically, the LG might hav...

LG24GM77 - more findings

At a glance: The LG24GM77 has the same scaler and panel as the BenQ 2411T/Z, ASUS VG248QE etc., so it is not native 8bit as sometimes reported, BUT... Apparently, the LG 24GM77 does not apply dithering at the scaler level, which normally means increased round-off errors when passing the gamma- and c...

Re: Benq Xl2411Z or Asus VG248QE

Strobemaster, Since we're on this topic (and I also know you have an XL2730Z), do you know why both the Asus ROG Swift PG278Q and (sometimes) the Benq XL2730Z suffered from excessive inversion artifacts? [...] Not exactly the topic here, but anyway. In my experience, especially with the EIZO Foris ...

Re: Benq Xl2411Z or Asus VG248QE

I don't understand the last part of your sentence though. Are you saying the LG minimizes round off noise caused by pixel value processing? Or the Asus/Benq do? How does this affect image quality (especially on very dark or white shades, or shades on top of shades (e.g. transparent fogging / clouds...

Re: Benq Xl2411Z or Asus VG248QE

I do know that the LG 24GM77 uses a true 8 bit panel. Just for the record, the LG-24GM77 sitting on my table has an AUO M240HW01-V8 panel, the same as in other 144Hz 24" monitors (BenQ XL2411Z, Asus VG248QE,...). So it is just 6bit+FRC (see also Panelook ). Nevertheless, the LG-24GM77 uses a differ...

Re: Benq Service/Factory Menus, VT tweaks, XLX2720Z AMA Low

Hi Falkentyne, So far I have run just a few tests with MBR=Off and AMA=High, and at least in this mode the OD setting allows for a very fine control over the strength of AMA (overdrive). This would already be very useful for me, but obviously only if I can figure out how to save the new setting. I'l...

Re: Benq Service/Factory Menus, VT tweaks, XLX2720Z AMA Low

So the settings in the factory menu can be changed (I am after the OD setting for the XL2730Z), but is there a way to actually save the settings so that they will survive power off/on?
